Just reading through, good looking build. I have a Dutch Shepherd and a Belgian Malinois and have built one of these platforms for them to ride in the backseat. Very easy build if you have the right tools and makes it easy to haul things around too being a flat surface and all. Just thought I'd share in case you haven't seen this platform before. If you're interested I can send you links i used and some things i changed also.

I have seen those platforms before. Does it get rid of the black cubby behind the seats?

No, you just fold down the seats and it sits on top of the folded seats and in front of the cubbies.

Gotcha. Might look into it. Also looks like it eliminates the floor space for my med bag and other stuff. How do the dogs like it?

Dogs love it since it's a flat surface without the room in the floor space for them to fall into during braking. Heres a pic of my Dutch enjoying it. Regarding the floor space for storage, I removed those plastic bins behind the rear seats and replaced it with a molle panel, sooooo much more room to keep gear and such. A member on here made them, I picked mine up second hand. But I had the dog platform before I got the molle panel so it works with either setup. I've also made one of these platforms for just the 60 portion of the back seat so you can still have a passenger (or in your case maybe, still have some floorspace, attached that as well)

I finally tried vinyl wrapping this past weekend. I wrapped my roof to help protect from further damage and saltwater (I carry kayaks on my racks often). A good part of my inspiration came from here, from you. Of course the roof I can imagine is nothing compared to what you've done, but it got my feet wet at least and an appreciation for the art.

Maybe one day (days probably) I'll attack the whole truck.

Hmmmm gonna Save this and maybe down the road I might do it. Still have yet to to a trip with her so we still have a lot of figure out to do with where she’ll sleep and such. This might be a good bet. And I was looking at getting some webbing in between the front and rear seats to try and keep her from jumping in front. Could maybe do med bag to that if I ever go down that route too. Thanks man!

A pretty extreme option, but knowing a few Mal-igators, this should work.

That's awesome! I've never seen that before. Only downside is with the maligators I've known, I've seen them chew through metal before so as long as you keep an eye on them and dont leave them there for long. SHOULD work ;)

That is a pretty nice little net though I may give that a try in the future. Thanks for posting that.

Fair point. Maybe something a little more along the lines of the T-rex crate from Jurassic Park

Now you're talkin... haha I actually transport my fur missiles in ruff land kennels most of the time unless it's too hot/cold or raining in which case they are on the platform. The ruff land kennels are basically indestructible and about 200-250 each. May be a good option for @TacoZim when camping to have a secure place for the doggo. Heres a pic of my two. They are available at Bass Pro and Cabelas and have a range of sizes.

Local PD uses a similar product. About the only thing that can contain an angsty mal.

Thats exactly what i was saving up for! I found that a year or two back and have had it saved for a while. Luckily we've been on my dogs ass since we got her and have little issues with her chewing on stuff that she's not supposed to so far. Knock on god damn wood. The netting should definitely work, but might put her in said kennel above for trips^ Until she's for sure out of the puppy stage and I have more trust with her haha

Let me know if you'd like any specific shots of them or have any questions about them. The doors open from the left and the right. An optional tie down kit is available for like 20 bucks, which I have on both. And for what it's worth (even though you only have one.... for now....) two of the size large fit perfectly side by side between the wheel wells.
