I have a Truxedo LoPro Qt tonneau cover, but I don't like the gap between the cover and the top of the tailgate. It is both ugly, allows bit of rain to get in and is not the safest. Basically the tailgate is not as high as the side of the bed as you can see on the pic. Mine is even lower than that and quite visible. I was thinking of installing a taller tailgate lip/cap to eliminate the gap.

Where could I get one? Does Toyota has an OEM part? Does anyone have any part #'s for these? Anyone on TW selling one?

Something like this link, but for a second gen. Just to eliminate the gap between my tonneau and tailgate.

Have you thought of maybe modifying your bed cover instead? I bet some craftily attached garage door gasket would work well for that application.

I think I still prefer my original solution as it will look better since I'm useless in making/fabricating anything myself. I will try to get a pic of the tailgate/tonneau so its easier to see what I'm talking about.

...so still looking for suggestions and or part numbers...

    kryten,

I had a tailgate cap / reinforcement made from 1/8" diamond aluminum plate using drawings found here at TW for "weak tailgate reinforcement solution". by RelentlessTaco.

I had just the cap piece made, it extended down to the screwholes on the tailgate. It cost me $50 at a machine shop to have fabricated.
