Brand new Tacoma with bed extender. No tailgate lock on Tacoma. Little bit of a disappointment.
No Lock = very easy to steal tailgate and / or bed extender.

Put a heavy duty cable tie on the right side barrel "hinge"

    Easy...clean...no paint scratches...effective...free.

I bought the power Pop&Lock for my 2010 Taco a couple of months back and it works perfectly. Works with your keyless power door remote key. One click locks it and two clicks unlock it.
Item: (2005-2010) Toyota Tacoma (w/ or w/o Camera) Pop&Lock Power Tailgate Lock

Valid complaint, we've just seen it a ton.

I have the PopNLock and the "hose clamp mod". Redundancy is key.
