    Hi Katie,

I used a voltmeter to check continuity of the (2) solenoid wires to the pins in the plug. The OEM kit and the @KTJO 4x4 kit both have the same pin arrangement. So the 2019+ OEM kit should work on all of the 2016+ Tacomas. I'm pretty sure this has already been confirmed, but I figured additional confirmation wouldn't hurt.

That is something i have considered doing as well. Locking unlocking with a key is a PITA

Exactly, especially if you got a truck with keyless entry or push-button start! You get used to not having to pull out your keyfob REAL quick, so having to dig the key out of the keyfob to unlock/lock the tailgate seems ridiculous! Also, because of the rash of tailgate thefts in states like Texas and California, locking the tailgate is a good idea. That is why I got the popnlock, although if you have seen my video I posted a link to in this group, instead of the tailgate popnlock working off of the push button, I got the popnlock dash switch, which was designed for people who had vehicles without keyless entry. But for me, I just thought it was the best because i could not see unlocking the tailgate everytime I either unlocked the driver door, which is the way Toyota instructs to install it, or if one installs it on the passenger side, then I couldn't see unlocking the tailgate whenever I unlock all 4-doors. I only see a need to unlock the tailgate when I WANT to unlock the tailgate specifically, which for me, is hardly ever!

Yes. They all have the same Pin Arrangements except for this that have Window Jam Protection vs No Window Jam Protection. I posted that difference above in a previous post that you quoted. Pin 9 vs Pin 10

Just installed the OEM on a 2017... works with zero issues. Followed the OEM instructions.

Do you (or someone else) still have the guide for the OEM 2020 install? Mine didn’t come with it either, and my Google-foo skills are failing me. Thanks in advance!

Just installed mine on a 2021 using these instructions. Only issue was lifting carpet under the seat to get to the rubber grommet. Until 20201222_140222.jpg I remembered my "winbag". Stuck it under the carpet and pumped it up. Best $10 I have ever spent.

I did this to my truck years ago with the OEM lock. It’s been great.
