No go on the codeable tumbler swap from 5400 to a 5200 - larger diameter. Here is their response.................

Unfortunately the lock size of the codeable lock is much larger than the standard lock,
so it will not fit into the PL5200. The PL5400 is designed to accept and work with the
    codeable lock cylinder.

..........which is pretty much what I expected. Oh well.........

Does anyone have an install on these new ones yet? Are they the same as the 5300?

heated mirrors, lighted cup holders, backup lights, backflip cover, box lights, raised diff breather, solenoid tailgate lock, flashlight holder,
I had the pop and lock, changed the locks every spring. The barrel lock corrodes easily. I thought I had kept them well lubed. Ha! Got a new barrel and greased it well before installing Lasted a little longer. Installed the heavy duty Dynolock wired to door locks. No extra key to carry and works great...(winters in Quebec!!) Not promoting, just my 2cents

Ok, finally got some traction with the group buy (kind of). Today I received a message from a distributor who got my name from PnL inquiring about setting up an actual group buy. Once I get the particulars from them, I'll set up a thread in the group buy forum & post a link to it in this thread.

With the holidays, I don't know what the turn-around time will be to get this going, how long the window will be open, etc. but I'll post those details once I get them in the GB thread.

Ok, here's the GB offer from Pop and Lock via their distributor,Meyer USA: 5% off MSRP & free shipping on PL5400 (2d gen manual BOLT lock), PL5500 (2d gen manual standard lock) or PL8540 (2d gen manual/power BOLT lock). Note that the PL8540 is pre-order at this time, so delivery timeframe is not known right now.

The offer would be for the first 100 takers within a 30 day period. I'm waiting to hear if we can place "rolling" orders during that period, or if we'd have to wait til the end.

Looking for opinions if this is worth setting up in the GB thread or not.

Not worth setting up a GB on here for only 5% off MSRP and free shipping. Other online vendors easily match or beat this price and include free shipping.

If they were willing to do 10-15% off MSRP and free shipping in recognition of a TW group buy that might be a different matter. It doesn't sound like they want the business that badly.

I'll take the 5% off MSRP any day, but they probably won't honor free shipping to HI. It's a little saving but it's better than nothing.

But to late for me to take part on a GB if there was one, cause I've already pre-ordered the PL8540 about a week ago.

I even emailed their customer service asking when will the PL8540 kit be available, time frame wise.

    Their answer.

It is in the final stages of production. We are still out a few weeks before we can ship those. Sorry for the delay and appreciate your patience

Don't be sorry...I've already pointed this out to them. :)

I think the issue is that Pop and Lock has pushed us off to one of their distributors to handle the GB. Places like eTrailer buy from distributors. So from Meyer's perspective, they're going to make the sales either way. Plus, they probably don't want to annoy "their own" customers (like eTrailer) by undercutting them with a direct buy from Meyer.

With that, and given the level of interest shown for the GB "deal", I'm not planning on pursuing this any further right now. It's easier to just buy it today from somewhere like eTrailer or even eBay than to wait for a GB that isn't even a good deal.
