I Just ordered an OEM power tailgate lock kit and thought maybe since it will be apart to install that maybe I should look at what the options are for a more flat Panel. cup holders might even be cool but not required.

Share with me what you all have and how you like them.

I got the pakrax tailgate insert on sale. It's just a flat piece of aluminum which is a simple and clean solution. No cup holders, which doesn't bother me and its not a cutting board, but I figure if I need to use a cutting board I'll use a cutting board not my dirty tailgate. One of the other things i like is that their logo is small, I can't stand having advertisements all over my truck.

I do like the simplicity of it.. I never heard of that one before either. I'm not sure cup holders is a requirement. I know that flat would even be and improvement I'm tried to eat lunch when traveling during covid or just to be outside at work and there is no place to sit ur drinks and things that you don't want to tip over.

have to see what else it out there but this looks good. How long have you had it and how is it holding up? paint chips or any dents yet?

I found that the BedRug tailgate carpet solves the problem of the OEM corrugated panel.

I have the relentless fab all aluminum unpainted one. It covers the top portion of the tailgate also. It’s a good work table. I’ve painted on it, stood on it, cut things on it, rested metal pipes on it…

Make your own. I used a piece of 3/16” 5052 aluminum and just traced the stock on it and cut/grinded it out. A056F020-9434-410C-BFC9-203212D835C9.jpg

1E52475D-0039-4B78-A973-6EF4BD6CDCA6.jpg I got the AL Off-road trailgate cup holder version when they had a sale. It looks nice and had the option to install with the logo or flip it around and install blank. Just be aware that if you are constantly loading and unloading the bed the cup holders could make it harder for things to slide in and/or be a hole to step in. I have a bed mat, so nothing really slides in anyway and I have never had a problem stepping in it while unloading things.0E9E59BD-BB7F-4344-AD41-4798AFFD6D3E.jpg

I haven’t had it very long, but it seems pretty durable. If you think your gonna beat on it really hard I think mobtown makes a steel one. But I didn’t want the extra weight.

I don't know that I'd beat it up. Most of my hauling is camping stuff, coolers, groceries, gardening and home improvement stuff, lumber once in awhile. The heaviest load I've had so far was old tube tvs and electronics. I'm sure the aluminum is strong enough. I like the cup holders but it not important, drinks will set on a flat one and I can cook on with a grill or stove top if needed.

I'm really mostly looking for a flat surface so I can work on it better and things don't tip over. All the panels are awesome. It was so hard to pick one but I settled on the Pax Rax panel. It seems simple, looks like it's as good as the other Aluminum ones in terms of material. The logo isn't big. no cup holder but that wasn't a must have for me. I found it on sale at state48overland.com for 140 plus 30 to ship, so that a good price too.

Has anyone had this Happen to them? Seems that State48 overland is declining my order due to chargeback frauds.

    New_Logo_e4fd99ebb72df269b543fb7b518b5843110162c5.png
    Hello Michael,

I want to first start off by saying thank you for coming through our website to place this order. We will be refunding your account shortly. Unfortunately there has been a rise of fraudulent chargebacks within a 100 mile radius of where you live and we have suspended business for all of those counties. Specifically the PA/MD bordering counties which you unfortunately live near. (Fraudulent chargebacks occur when the customer receives the product, then makes a claim with their bank stating there was an unauthorized transaction even though they made the order. Bank then requires us to refund the money, yet we lost our product in meantime even if we can show a tracking number and verify delivery. Most of the time the bank returns the money back to us.)

We apologize we can not fulfill your order at this time and hope to lift the restrictions in the future.

    State 48 Overland

I work for a large financial institution and we were seeing a lot of fraudulent accounts being opened in the Ohio valley area. So much so that we too had to shut some stuff down until we could get a handle on stopping this concentrated fraud attack from that area. Their note might have something to do with what we were seeing.

Wow... I understand they don't want to lose money but it really stinks when a hard working honest person wants to stimulate the economy a little and get themself something that they get shot down because of crooked people.

That's insane. I'm kinda close and would think this area would be safer than most.
