    Hey All-

I just installed a Pop-Lock tailgate lock for my 07 Taco. I got this on ebay for about $30. I wanted to make sure the gate was secure and that nobody would steal my bed extender when it was in the bed. It looks real nice, like it could have been a stock Toyota part. It took me about 20 minutes to install it too, pretty easy. Just FYI for all you out there in case you were considering that option...:D

Did you get it direct from the company? (the Pop-Lock and the bed extender)

I actually got both of them through ebay. I got the bed extender for 170 (aseller20). I looked all over and online for the best deal, and that's what I found. The pop lock was a company on ebay too(hubcaps_plus). Both companies were reputable ebayers and had thousands of postive feedback. I am not sure if there are aftermarket companies making the extender, but this one was a toyota part (it came with the install kit too, which runs about $30 at the dealer).

I am gonig to have to look into getting one. Even my boss has had his tailgate stolen from the parking garage. He has a 97 Ram 150. Eww. Who would steal that? :p

I am glad some one has a good story about purchasing something from eBay. Most people you talk to lately are all upset about how many scam artists there are on eBay. I have seen some things on there that I want, but I am afraid of getting ripped off. Thanks for letting us know who we can trust. ;)

Could you post a rear shot of your tailgate and a close up of the lock? I'm interested in this as well.

    That hurts.

I went ahead and ordered one from the same seller on ebay. It came quickly and installed in under about 20 minutes. The mosquitos were sucking me dry so I was in turbo mode. I installed the linkage extenders because I could still open the gate when it was locked. With the extenders, I can't open it when it is locked but there is a little play in the handle.

The kit looks to be the same setup as OEM. I saw a few trucks on the lot and it looked exactly the same. I'll try to get a picture of the lock setup tomorrow.

    Call me Robert.

I had to really jerk on the handle to open it. It would fool everyone but the determined. I like that there is no play without the extenders.
