    Hi Everyone,

My tailgate was stolen recently, broad daylight in a busy parking lot at my corporate job. Partly my fault for not installing a lock.

Anyhow, any recommendations on how to find a replacement? I'd like to use a legit parts service so I do not supply the theft market.

    Thanks

You should not take responsibility for other people's actions.

Not your fault some dirtbag decided to steal your stuff. Nor will it be anyone's fault but his when he winds up in jail for stealing.

Or you could just install a simple hose clamp

Instead of shooting up the new tailgate to make it less desirable.

Welcome to the club. On a separate occasion, I’ve even had my bed mat stolen. Go through your insurance. Check your comprehensive insurance. I’ve found most people have a $100 deductible.

    Thieves

    As in plural

So many tailgates being stolen can not be the work.of a single thief..........

So you will need a gross of hose clamps.

    Agreed.

But shooting up a tailgate to teach a thief a lesson seems counter productive and extremely extreme. ...

Just don't use a impact wrench to install on said criminal, should be allowed.

You are free to do as you wish.

    'Merica and all.
But I am not shooting anyone over a tailgate.
Cops show up, take your 1911 into evidence for 7 to 20 yrs.....

    I would miss my 1911....
