Tailgate theft

You live in Sleepy Town, NY and this is strictly a west coast problem, don't waste your time/money.

 

I think I’ll be borrowing this idea. I already have the lock from christian06 installed, but might as well make it more annoying.

 

unfortunately there is only so much we can do, when we let the ne'er-do-wells walk on crime again and again. Some areas are much worse than others, their choice, I am starting to lack sympathy. Sorry OP, call the insurance and add a washer, guard dogs, security cameras, a garage etc

 

Large fender washers make room for messages to those who might want to steal the tailgate.

Don’t even think hose clamps will work- you can easily break them off with a flat head screwdriver in less than 10 seconds. The fender washers are the best cheap route - you will need a spacer behind it so the eye will still rotate.

$99 for the sabellco! Geesh. I'm considering it but I have to verify it works with my snailarmor tailgate panel first. I flagged that cl post too eff that guy.

Sucks so badly. Nice neighborhoods are seeing more and more of this stuff all over, because the bad people go where they're more likely to find something nice versus get beaten up or worse for their troubles if caught.

 

Im having a hard time believing that I need to do something more than install this. Which I did. (and I lock my truck every time I get out of it)

If I remember right this was the FIRST mod I did. I have a triple fold hard cover too from Toyota. You aren't getting my tailgate.

just pry that plastic handle open and slide the proper lever just like how they do it on car doors
