Sabelco lock looks like it's gotten more expensive than when I bought it three years ago. But it's a seriously beefy piece of hardware that would take major effort to get past since even the lock cylinder itself is reinforced against cutting/drilling. Only downside I've had is that the fit on my tailgate is a bit loose and its worn away some of the plastic from the edge of the bed and some paint off the lock piece, but nothing important and no issues with rust. I haven't done the washer method on the tailgate cable mounts because of this but may eventually anyways just for extra visual deterrence if needed.

Get the sabellco lock. If the combination of those 3 doesn't stop them then insurance will cover the replacement. Have you considered moving?

No sense tracking just a tailgate using private means ... truck, yes, by providing information to the police. Tailgate, police will likely just tell you the posted location is probably false as the tracker was removed, then tell you to call the insurance company.

Sad, but true. If no blood, there is a "loss limit" for police to act.

So, how much is a replacement tailgate obtained through legal means anyway? My apologies if it was previously mentioned in this thread and I didn't see it.

FYI, you do not need paypal to pay via paypal - they take credit cards like any other website.

This is a piece of exhaust tubing cut to fit over the disassembled hinge. Made from an adapter tube i bought at auto parts store for $2.83. I can't think of a good reason not to make your own and save your beer money .......... Paint it or let it rust, your option.

I would like to see some of those NE folks take on a 115 degree day in AZ under a sun-baked cloudless sky.

Just to clarify, I don’t think anyone mentioned calling the police.

If tracking a stolen tailgate, you either call Cousin Guido or the police. I see no other reason to use a tracker.

But maybe I did miss something in the intent ...

Stick an Air Tag in the Tailgate so you can get it back next time. :)

The fuck we do. In a state that was famous for flat value, non ROI generating real estate, my home value has doubled since I bought it in 2016, and tripled the 2014 appraisal. The reason why I'm hugely upset about that is that my property taxes have also tripled since 2014. My favorite remote campsites that were 2 hours away are now suburbs.

We are full. Go the fuck away.

I bought the SaBellCo. Here's the before & after. No issues with rust and I've been through one winter.

Also bought the OEM Tailgate Lock.
