Take Offs, Deal or No Deal?

P265-70x17 Revo II, supposedly a couple hundred miles, $640 cash and carry, so no warranty.

Tirerack has them for $688 but shipping is $100.

Would I be nuts?

 

Give them $500. The "new" price doesn't apply to used goods IMO, it's just a gauge of what to not exceed.

 

Depends on how many 10ths of an inch there is left in the tread .

 

These are from a tire store, so I'm not worried about skinning someone, & I expect there to be full tread with that few miles.

But $500 does sound better....

 

and yea... if I'm selling something on crags list, Even if I do warrant it, you can't trust that I will and have no real legal way of doing anything about it. You pay for service, and don't when its not there.

Yea... used goods go for used prices chaps my ass when someone puts something up on craigslist "paid 500 asking 490". Well maybe I'll just pay the 500 and get a receipt with it. Who does that? Even if its "new in box" there's no recourse for returning it. If it was that good, the owner should have gotten a refund. If not, its used, and as far as I know, used up.
