I also think the Wrangler Adventures have been all-around great tires... Not sure what would be much better unless you want to sacrifice mpgs for something more aggressive. Check out the link below... The Adventures fall in the middle of the pack as far as Tire Rack ratings go. The Continental Terrain Contacts are highly reviewed and seem to be very reasonably priced:

I cannot talk you out of them rationally. They work for 99% of Tacoma owners.

    I switched for looks mostly.

Ha! You are definitely not cornering hard enough. The last couple of days on my worn out Wranglers I had them HOWLING on freeway on ramps. The only limiting factor on hard cornering is the crazy throttle response.

Only thing I don't like about them is how much pebbles/mud they retain after driving off road/gravel roads.

Nothing like putting up a nice rooster tail of windshield crackers after pulling back on hardball.

Stock tires lasted 22,000 miles, replaced them at 7/32" I believe, could have lasted a bit more but just lifted the truck and put some ko2 285/75's. Stock tires look like trash, but for the time I had them, they weren't bad. Only had a couple times where they slid on me in snow/ice in Tahoe, but I knew that would happen.
