Am I better off just replacing the shocks with TOYTEC BOSS rear shocks or BILSTEIN 5125’s?

I went from 5125s to Boss 2.5s and I like it better but I also changed the springs at the same time so I don’t know if the good ride quality is spring or shock or both. But my truck has rear weight permanently so my setup may not be right for your situation.

Just noticed I’ve got a broken leaf on the pass. side. Shipping makes these things too pricey so I’m gonna check out some local manufacturers. Anyone got any info on spring rates?

I do have about 2.5-3” of rear lift, did you upgrade your bump stops?

I deleted the factory ones and had airbags for 80K miles but then deleted those and got a U Bolt flip with the Timbrin bump stops
    Love them!

I have the Medium duty with an AAL which basically makes it the HD pack. I only have a bed cap on my truck and i got about 2.5 or so inches of lift out of them, but they squeak like shit if you don't pressure wash them every other week. I don't love them, but don't hate them either. Ill most likely replace them with deaver or Icons in the future.

I had 5100s on my 2005 Taco and somehow I was talked into Boss for my 2015 and was not impressed..... so I switched over to the 5100s after only a few thousand miles........

If you decide on Dakars, get the HD ones.... my bro in law went with the medium duties and eventually went with the heavies when they sacked out... he rode around with an empty bed for the record...

If I were to remove my 1” block and slap on a 1.5” block along with my TOYTEC AAL on TSB springs, will the B110’s be ok? Do I still have to replace my bump stops? I know I have to extend my rear brake lines. Don’t off road, don’t haul and always have an empty bed.

I had the medium Dakars with 5160s in the rear, empty bed most of the time. I netted about 2.5 to 2.75 inches. Don't listen to anyone who has the older style CS Dakars, they are different from the newer ones which are plagued with problems that you won't read about unless you do some digging.

The ride was so bad I ended up selling them and getting Deaver U402 Stage 1, big difference in quality and I netted about the same amount of lift. I'd highly recommend you look at Deaver U402 or the Icon RXT packs. From my research the RXT might be even softer with no weight depending on the stage you run

I have the HD Dakar’s with B110 and wheelers super bumps. Normally, my bed is unloaded. The ride is not that harsh.

I carry my ATV and pull a trailer a few times a year, which is why I went HD. they squeaked for a while on me too but now I fluid film everything once a year and it takes care of the squeaks for the majority of the year.

Just looked over my suspension, yeah not pretty lol! Both rear shocks are leaking, the OEM leafs with AAL is close to flat now.

Ive had the HDs for the last 3 years and I was never really happy with them from the get go. I have some Archive hangers coming in the next month or so and I'll be swapping to Deaver U402 Stage II at the same time. I never had "taco lean" on my factory pack, and with only about 25k miles on my dakars, I've got some noticeable lean already.

The gentleman at Archive explained to me a subpar design in the dakars, honestly I couldn't really explain it back to someone but it made sense when it was told to me, worth an email or a phone call if you are interested.

From my hours of searching, think I’ll just go with the BILSTEIN 5125’s, maybe next year I’ll upgrade my OEM rear leafs since I don’t use my bed for anything. Should I upgrade my bump stops or don’t bother?
