I'll probably take Friday off and head over before noon.

If you're getting there by yourself, it's best to get there during daylight hours. Keep in mind daylight will be a bit shorter by then.

Is there a running list? I don’t think i got everyone as I didn’t read through it all

@tgelata and @honkonbobo my gf will be coming. She always comes. Just give fair warning as the bathroom situation is not the greatest so a portable loo and a pop up changeroom may be better for them if they’re not comfortable with popping a squat.

not an issue. a shovel and a roll of TP is a luxury on some of our trips.

so got a question since I'm as green as it gets for off roading AND camping.

Generally speaking I've been camping most of my life so i know what to bring, but what should i bring along for this trip since i'm interested in going.

like i have an idea, but if i do go this would mean it's the first overnight offroad trip i'd end up going on. Just figured i'd ask if there was something obvious that i might not think to bring along :notsure:.

    - extra gas can(s)
    - recovery gear; straps, axe, ropes, hammer
    - maintenance tools; sockets, wrenches at a minimum
    - the obvious clothes, food, and water for at least 3 days (extra socks and boots)
    - Tent/ RTT/ Hammock with the obvious interior stuff, being October - the nicer winter rated sleeping bag
    - Tarps

I know i'm overthinking this, but haven't been to or even seen photos of Ardbeg and the trails, i tend to keep to East side of Algonquin. Just heard stores before so not sure.

Better to ask and look green than not ask and look like an idiot later :cookiemonster:

my advice is check the forecast and know you are covered for clothing and sleep kit if its cold or raining... have as much of this list covered as is practical (2nd gen link - not sure if mostly same for 3rd gen?)... bring stuff to get unstuck... and dont worry about Scotch cause @TeecoTaco has it covered. i usually carry spare fuel but probably dont need it for 2 day Ardbeg.

I would focus on bringing the appropriate camping gear for the season and what ever food and materials you need for your camping needs.

We aren’t completely in the bush but the nearest (cheap) gas station is probably 40mins away so a Jerry can may be needed (I arrived on perry sound on half a tank, wheeled, and just got back to perry sound to fill up with my crap mileage).

As for tools and recovery don’t stress and try to bring absolutely everything as someone will be there to help you out. Also if you don’t have something, that doesn’t mean you can’t come or your going to be screwed. Over time you will figure out what you need and pack accordingly.

Myself I’ll probably bring 20L of water, 20-40L of fuel, whatever food, tent with strong pegs and extra rope (the ground is rock and not always penetrable (hehehe)), warm clothes and a possible heater (have to keep the dog cozy).

Truck wise I have my oh shit bin where I have fluids and spare parts. In the truck is my tools (which you can happily use if needed).

Biggest thing you need to have is a spare that works (matches your current tire size) and stuff to make you comfortable for camping (people don’t usually pack an extra tent, pillow or extra food for another person.

Ground rock tenting is something i've actually not done yet. but it's good to know that it'll mostly be that  asking early gives me a few weeks to prepare for it then.

Don't have an "oh shit bin"/ extra parts as of yet. But from what @Norilsk mentioned, it's not a due or die type of wheeling but mostly stock stuff, so i'll be mindful to try and take things easy as i go along.

The spare under the bed should be the same size as what i have now, i never considered to buy a 5th rim+tire when i picked up the KO2s as many people as myself wouldn't think to do so, so i'll check that later today to confirm it's the same. I do have a dedicated 'summer' set at home i can switch to after i return if something goes wrong, so no huge concern - the spare just needs to get me home.

Thanks for that list, that'll be a huge help. i'll need to get myself another box for at least the tools to world on the truck with, not just for this trip - but just in general for maintenance.

Not a huge deal if you don’t have a “shit bin”. I’m running stupid things with big tires, so I have a whole level of risk. This trail can be run stock. If you don’t feel comfortable doing it don’t. Also, don’t let @Norilsk spot you as he is out for blood.

as long as your spare is the same size your fine. For instance if I had the stock spare it would do anything if i had a flat with my 35’s.
