Price it out. He is running a warn which is 3x the price of my smittybilt 10k winch. My winch sat for a year on someone else’s truck and held up great yesterday.

I won’t be using steel cable after our day with synthetic. Steel is way more durable, but it’s heavy and a pain to slug around.

    looking at what smittybilt has that interst me;

XRC GEn3 9.5k COMP with the fancy LED/ load bearing sensor remote ($580USD)
and yours (assume it's the one you have)
X20 10k with the wireless remote for like $30 more. ($610USD)

guess i'll keep looking into it then but might just get the one that you have. (x20)

I was in the same debate too... ended up with the X20 for the wireless and it it more "generic" so it's easier to use an aftermarket remote or contactor if I ever needed to down the road.

Yeah no, the Smittybilt X20 10k is $822 before taxes (which is like $5 more expensive than the Just jeep website)
    :bananadead:
I'll keep an eye out for it then

Get the smitty built with synthetic line, it'll do the work. I just like fancy names and go with WARN :cookiemonster:

yeah the x20 with synth line was really nice to be able to toss it 40 feet to you without killing either of us

Just handling it was just a pleasant thing in general. what did you guys get for extension ropes? or just bought another winch and saved the old line?

hmm anyone have a feeling if just jeeps of 4wp would do a group buy for an x20 10k synthetic? seems like one of the lightest options at 67lbs without spending luda money.

I looked at all the video posted along with the pictures. Thanks for the media It was like I was there minus the frustration, cold and sweet from shoveling, minus the "dam not again" but sadly minus the "dam this is awesome"

It started to get deep there. you can see the snow getting thrown up off my front tires.

I was at 6000rpm 2nd gear, pumping the brakes to keep all 4 wheels spinning.

For me the biggest point was....

With either Warn or Smittybuilt it would be much easier to get replacement parts, quick google on the x20 gives me this page...

    https://www.summitracing.com/search...oduct-line/smittybilt-winch-replacement-parts

Happy Off-roading hobby = having spare parts accessible...
