Do you guys ever hold tech sessions? It's a common occurance in my motorcycle groups. That's where experienced owners walk the newbies through common, simple, preventive maintenance and/or mods (that's teach them how to do it, not free servicing). It usually requires someone with garage space and plenty of tools but with a truck, owners could bring their own tools. Although the information here is great, it's a little easier for a noob than trying to figure something out using the forum and it gives the novice some valuable OJT with an experienced overseer.

That does not sound at all like a bad idea, though I kind of think on here it might be a little pre-mature. I think what you are describing might work better as the site continues to grow and we get the regional groups up and running. (keep in mind that the only "formal group" is the Carolina Alliance and they are still fairly consumed with either seceding (sp?) or taking over Texas i forget which this week)

However, once the regional aspect is rolling then perhaps as a get together, kind of thing, I dunno, maybe one month have a BBQ at someones place and call it a CAI install day.

Your idea has potential. I'd be interested to hear what 007 and or tcbob think.

Agreed. It's a great idea once more regionals are set up.

Absolutely was the comment about the alliance was in good nature. I am on the list of possible participants in the get-together assuming that I can time it with a visit to the better half's sister. So perhaps I should petition for associate Carolina Alliance member status?

I am sorry if I gave offense, I was just trying to get as much of a laugh back out of everyone as I got when I was reading the thread about seceding (sp?) and or taking over texas, or your fridge. Again sorry if I offended.

Glad I was able to make you laugh, that was my intention.

I put formal group in quotations because I was not sure if you were still a petitioning group or had become full recognized yet. :)

Heck, I am one of the relatively far away members trying to make it to the Carolinas get together, so ND, if you are in-fact the president of the Carolina Alliance then I formally petition you to become an "associate member", or perhaps "member in exile" of the Carolina Alliance.:D

One last question were you just calling the Texans people who like equine animals, or were you implying that the "like them too much"

I agree that this would be a great idea once we have enough members in an area to get a group together.

I would sponsor a tech session, but I don't have a 4.0L or a 3.4L. Since most people on here are V6 owners, I don't think it would work well if I did it. We do have plenty of other members that are tech savvy. ;)

6 cylinders or 4 it's still an engine. I don't recall if you have a 4x2 or a 4x4 but some things could be changing front, rear diff, transfer case and manual trans gear oil, lubing the chassis, changing CV axles. Could also take pictures and do a write up and if a Tech Section gets created it could go in there.

Wow, i have alot of questions to answer here.....

Audi and Tacomaman: From this point on i will just consider you "unmotivated members" of the Alliance. You will be in charge of watching TV and making sure no un-authorized persons drink the beer. Acutally now that i think about it i guess i'm an "unmotivated member" too. I dont actually wanna take over anything, i just want to mock the Texan members of TWfrom the safety of my computer and watch the TV with you guys and drink the un-authorized beer.... ok so from this point on the Alliance is just a group of cool guys with a cool organization name that drinks beer, and is dedicated to making fun of all the Texans on this site.

Maverick: I'd be happy to induct you into the Alliance, just make sure you drink plenty of beer and make fun of 007 every once in a while.... and do everything in your power to make it to the Carolina Tacoma Meet when we have one. Oh yeah, and your side mission could be to find out how to spell seceding and if it's actually a word...

and to address the manner in which Texans love their horses..... i'm not really sure how to approach this one..... so my offical answer to your question is..... yes......

Ok, so its safe to say that we are all members of the Carolina Alliance.... just really lazy, unmotivated members. Thats fine i can live with that. Now we just need to get some stickers made up so we're official :)
