A WI farm, Sonora, Sedona, Lake Havesue and Canyon
    Vehicle:
Impluse Red 2006 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-road 4x4
A Roo Bar comes to mind. I also protected the tail lamps. It is a farm and you back over stuff; Willows mostly. All of the factory options are on it. The dealership owner bought it for himself. He put a topper on it and pricey tyres. The Power Wagon does the heavy lifting.
EAA has been doing that for years for pilots. It has worked out well.

Experimental Aviation Association. They will help you build it They have designated FAA examiners that can sign it off.
Self regulation works well. If you prang the airplane the FAA is going to talk to whoever singed off on what you did. This may not be a good thing.
We are the guys that develop new stuff. And fly it. Or crash it, rarely. Contrary to some belief, civilians develop and fly things like Spaceship One
Gene Stoner invented the AR 180. When sized down to .223 it did not work well. And I know why. But new makers of AR15 Series pop up monthly. I would not have one for free. Jamming Jenny has not changed. M14`s work. FAL`s work.
This is more accountible than you need, I suggest it as a Chapter TO&E. For civilians that is Table of Orgainization and Equipment.
Few new ideas come out of corporate structures or govt.
We also host forums on anything from spark plugs to oil to the electronic chips that I do not understanf.
A MFG. rep is there to host it or answer questions for usually 1 /1 /2 hrs.
NASA tags along wasting your money.
Civilians are making the advancements without govt. funding.
Someone posted a PDF link on URD MAF chips, I lost it but I would like to read it.
