Thanks to the forum I had to get a cable and install TIS Techstream and play around with settings. Got rid of the annoying seatbelt warnings, changed blinker settings, etc. I'll be doing the Lexus card style key soon and can program it myself now too.

One option I wish to change is the " auto" climate control and how it directs the air to feet only. There are a couple settings that seem like they would be related to this but I didn't get the desired result. Below is a pic of said settings, maybe someone has an idea?

YES! Thank you. I knew I saw that somewhere but hadn't looked to find it again.
So by that chart, in the air conditioner section, foot/defroster auto mode should turn be on by default. I wonder if this is only when running the AC, or if it should when running the heat. By default, mine will melt my feet when the "auto" setting is on, and it only directs air toward the feet. I would love for it to split the heat between the defroster and feet.

Here's the link to the exact cable I bought http://www.ebay.com/itm/30158291867...49&var=600473626913&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT 64 bit version for me. I am a Mac guy but have an older Windows 7 laptop that only gets used for a couple work things and stuff like TIS Techstream and Flash Tune ECU software. Even on an older slow laptop the install went smooth and it all works great. The cable came with a mini CD that has an instruction video and the required files/folders/instructions needed for install. I am going to contact the seller to ask about updating or if anything can be done since there is no 2017 Tacoma in the software. Using the 2016 Tacoma worked just fine though so maybe it doesn't matter at all. Yes I gambled on an eBay cable, so hopefully it is not laced with viruses that will destroy the electronics in my new Pro.

Guess I didn't specify that, but it came on the CD with the cable.

When you installed software did you have to disable the Internet so it doesn't search for a newer version?

I was on the wifi at home while installing and there was no problem. I did not use wifi when I connected to the truck to change settings. My assumption is that it would maybe prompt for update, which you could decline.

This plugs into your OBDII port right? Id watch fiddling with stuff unless you don't care about the warranty anymore. Throws red flags to the techs.

Just got mine but the CD won't read. Can anyone provide links to a CD that works with install information?

Sorry to revive an old thread. Will this tool/software allow new TPMS sensor codes to be entered (I.e. replace old sensor codes with the new sensor codes.)?

I bought the same version for troubleshooting my Yaris, and installed an older version from the techstream site to a VM, then disabled internet access so it doesn't update. Guess I need to try it out on my truck

I am trying to register new TPMS sensors with Techstream, but after entering in the 4 new ID numbers, i get the error "ID Registration failed due to a communication error with the ECU while in Initialization mode. Terminate Initialization by connecting TC and CG of the DLC3 for 30 seconds." Has anybody gotten around this? One thing to note is that with the version of Techstream I have installed, (10.30.029), when selecting vehicle type it only goes to 2016 and I have a MY17. I wonder if that is causing it, but it still seems like it connects to my truck fine.
