Oh, well that's new! Didn't exist last time I looked which was a year ago. I'll give it a try.

Ok, so it turned out the problem was the Techstream software I was using. I tried 2 different versions of v15. The first came with my Amazon cable and the second someone posted in this thread, but neither of them showed the "customize setting" button. I then installed v14 from lapoltba's sig and it worked this time. Confirmed success using a $30 cable and 32 bit windows on VirtualBox.

Why did the older version work but not the newer? All the sellers on eBay keep touting they’ve the latest version etc. is it that v15 won’t run on 32 bit?

Anyone know if there is anyway on a 19 Off-road to set the door handle sensor to unlock all doors instead of just the drivers door? I've gone into wireless locks and door locks and change the settings but nothing seems to work.

You can do that from the settings within headunit. I did it on my 2017 and my 2020 without issue.

I am sure the experts here can tell you more .... What I have learned. From buying V2.0.4 (newest) vs. V1.0.4(?)[ - older] only CAN Bus ... V1.0.4 can work fine on newer model Toyotas that use CAN bus. It is the older models that have KLINE and need often Dual Bus. They cheap out basically on chips. After a terrible experience with VCI adapters please don't buy them unless your willing to take a risk of it not working. Seems it works for some and not for others. Buy a Tactrix (official) not a clone as it has the support and faster support /drivers. Otherwise, it's an exercise in hacked software and making an inferior Chinese copy work.

I have V2.0.4 and it still crashes directly on my system not VMware and the guys at MHHH say I have a faulty/slow cable. Havr tried TIS:V10/V12/V14/V15 . VMWare and Directly on Win 10. Drivers is another issue. With Tactrix you get 64-bit Windows drivers. With the Chinese Clones you get registry hacks for Win 10 and if you VMWare (XP/ Win 7) your using Chinese provided drivers that may be faulty or old.

TIS- Is version dependent according to MHHH Auto website as newer cars may do fine with V15 but older cars may need even V6 V8 of TIS to get features. Older versions do not have all the security registration stuff for use on older models. Newer V of TIS has higher requirements the cheap cables may not fulfill transfer times, specs but yes it does have more features for newer Toyota Models.

I think if it's cheap $18-22 and you're willing to take the risk buy a V1.0.4 VCI from ebay and use the above linked V14 TIS. Sell it off if there is an issue.

I've read this thread and dug through TS functions and cannot find anything so before I give up via TS I'll ask here: Does anyone know if/how to change teh climate control display units from *C to *F? I bought a Canadian imported Tacoma and have changed the units settings for all of the driver info/infotainment screens, but the climate control display shows temps in *C. Google and searches on this forum have found a bunch of owners with the same issue but no solutions. I was hoping that this could be changed in TS.

I'm sure I've seen that in techstream, but I'm also sure I've seen that in either the head unit or dash MFD.

In the dash/cluster and in the head unit there are options to change units from km/mile and *C/*F, but they only apply those changes to the cluster and head unit. Those ones I changed. The climate control display stayed in *C.

Oh I'm sorry. Missed the climate control part. I don't have that so haven't explored it. But I know I've seen options for changing temperature units in techstream but I don't recall if it was global or specific to components.

I could find some stuff under "air conditioning" and it showed some temperature fields, one of which was "room temp", and the units were listed in F, but I couldn't see how to change that.

Hm not sure where it is. Isn't there a Customization submenu? Or maybe that's a techstream function rather than a one of those sections you click on, like a/c. Next time I use techstream I'll dig around.

I'm not sure. I am unfamiliar with TS, this was my first experience with it and I was also on battery only so I didn't spend a bunch of time digging around. I'll try looking more this weekend and if you get a chance to look, thank you in advance!

I downloaded and installed version 14.20.019 from this link a few weeks ago.... https://drive.google.com/file/d/1rHumlcFInkXdfAGgap0XS0KijFZumfSA/view

It installed fine, but when I attempt to use it, it is asking for an old version of Java for which I can't find an installer (JRE v6 update 1.6.0_7+). I installed a later version of Java on my machine, but I still get the error message each time I start techstream. It turns out that I didn't need to use Techstream at the time because OVTune did everything I needed in terms of reading my ECU version.

Now I actually will need to use Techstream to program new TPMS sensors, so I need to fix this issue.

Is there a newer version of Techstream available (along with the necessary keys, etc...) that either doesn't use java or uses a newer version?

Did you install the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) or some other version of Java? You need JRE and not JDK (Java Development Kit), as an example.
