    Let's check engine efficiency before replacing parts.

    Check manifold vacuum before and after the throttle body, and check engine compression. You can do this while you are doing the spark plugs.


    The holy grail would be to have a friend that does smog checks and would let you run the car on the car in simulation mode to get the gas readings.
