I recently picked up a used 2018 SR5 and have noticed that the windows fog up VERY easily. (I've had a 2017 Tacoma before and didn't have the issue.)

I THINK the recirculate door is stuck in the closed position, but don't know how to troubleshoot.

QUESTION: If have have your fan speed set to OFF, the recirculate light is NOT on, and the air diverter is set only to the upper vents (not defroster), will you have air flowing through those upper vents when you drive down the road. Essentially free flowing and not being pushed by the fan.

Mine does not have free flowing air under that condition even if I crack open the rear sliding glass. That should create a vacuum and pull air through the vents. I only get air through the vents when the fan is turned on.

Yes I have air flowing through the vents when the fan is off and diverter set to the upper vents.

rear sliding glass open won't have the effect you think. crack a side window one inch, that will pull air into the system far better

    That's what I thought. :\

The good news is that I think I know what is wrong. Now, I've just got to get Toyota to agree and fix it.

    Thanks!!!

yeah, sounds borked. should def feel some breeze in the vents with no fan and no recirc. dash is coming off if
it is not a circuit fault

    I actually did that also.

I'm pretty certain that recirculate door is stuck shut. This truck fogs quicker than anything I've ever had before other than my '74 Nova back in High School, but that is a different story. :bananadance:

The windows in my 2010 RC seem to fog up really easily at times too, and it seems like the defogger doesn't work worth a damn!

My 2019 fogs like crazy. Seems like I use defrost more than any other setting.

If you have condensation check for moisture near 3rd brake light. One of the signs of a leak and water in cab is moisture/excessive fog on glass

Are you turning the AC off when you turn on the defroster?

Ac dries the air, I thought it was automatic when you switch to defrost

Stop doing that, there is a reason it comes on automatically

Check the cabin filter also - the recirc door is in the same area.

I did think about that and the cabin air filter is brand new.
