I'm leaving the house at 6a and have to make a couple of quick stops in town for ice/drinks/breakfast-to-go. I should be up there between 8 and 8:30 like normal. Want to park the trucks out by the rattlesnake tree?

Can't say I blame you. My Tacoma still drops mud from the time I took it to Bridgeport in May. As for the tire holder; make sure and take pics! Wish I had some spare steel though; that would mean I had a welder.

I Pocked up a welder last week to make the tire carrier and maybe some sliders. I haven't touched one in 10 years and need to practice some more. I melted metal together but it don't look purty.
You are welcome to come use it if you bring beer.

Know the problem. I spent a lot of time welding growing up; but it has been a while since I did it where it looked decent. I might have to take you up on that offer when I get ready to redo my rear bumper.

I miss metal fab class from high school. We had some nice tools that were a blast to use. The plasma cutter was freaking sweet.

Yeah, looking back I didn't know how good the tools were that we had back then. I'd love to have a big Miller welder and three big cutting torches in rolling carts at the house! Then the grinders, parts washers, paint booth... damn I miss school sometimes. Besides; back then it wasn't creepy to check out a 17 yr old, lol.

We didn't have a paint booth but had 3 stick welders, 1 wire and 1 plasma cutter. Also had 2 or 3 torches. 2 pipe benders and some random other crap.

    Not only a 17 y/o but also 15 and 16 were free game. Once I became a senior I kept it 17 and 18.

They got a plasma cutter the year after I graduated. The pipe bender and welders were my favorite tools. I built a "western hauler" flatbed on a Chevy S-10 with a buddy for one of the other teachers. It is kinda funny because every so often I will still hear of someone seeing it on the road.

I'm assuming that is code for "a dented skid plate". I still think they should of just put in a keyboard for all those options.

Haha skid plate is the least of my worries... Dented transmission pan on the other hand... Can only be a result of that fancy keyboard on my dash.
