This is probably the nicest post I have ever seen here. Congrats on the amicable divorce! Those are the best!!! Great photos as well. I can relate in more than one way: My wonderful ex wife is best friends with my current wife and a godmother to our daughter, I have the Sr 4x4 manual 4 banger with just a few tasteful upgrades and I recently bought a Ricoh GRII to get more serious about taking pictures)) Nice to meet you Sil!

 

I watched Shameless, no family situation is like "normal". Not since days like this. But, with Christmas impending, need some advice to buy camera equipment. Just sayin'

Check out B&H that is where I did my research then, I look up forums and find problems. I repeat the process until I think I have found the right one. What kind of camera are you looking for?

 

Sorry, B & H?. My last "good" camera was a Cannon FTB with Tamron Lenses. Stollen, never replaced. Bag 'n all. I think now is the time technology has maybe caught up to price. What do you think?

Sorry, B&H is a large photography store in NY that sells a lot of cameras and accessories. They have used cameras and lens as well.

That stinks about the theft. Camera tech seems to change as frequently as the cell phone. As soon as you buy one, they come out with a better one the next year. The one I bought was a year and a half old and bought it with one lens. It has its small problems, so I learned to fix it and it works great for me.

It shoots slow, not fast, but has a high MegaPixel. Sony A7r with 55mm prime lens.

 

Hey, thanks for the info. Much appreciated. What about compatibility with the good o'l PC. Met a lot of graphic artists that all use Mac based stuff. Are Cameras like that too? Apple or windows specific?

 

The computer boils down to personal preference and ease of use. I am still using a Mac mini that is 5 years old. I do not do a lot of photo editing, but that is where your computer will do the most work.

 

Thanks Sil, think I'm leaning toward the Sony brand. Easier to point out in a line-up if it's stollen again, Lol! Looks a little more rugged too. I'm assuming they still make their own stuff. Still chuckling about that old add, "Sony, when you want to be Alony", Lol. Again much appreciated.
