I have the fly rod in the back, the camera in the cab and two boots on my feet. Don't need much more to enjoy the area. I was also heading to a wilderness area so no bikes. Soon to have a hammock and a hammock chair with me for a afternoon siesta...just waiting on the fabric to arrive so I can sew them up.

Yes indeed! It's the bins out of the double cabs I don't have the part numbers off hand as I wasn't originally searching for them haha they just kinda fell in my lap haha.

Speaking of buckets does anyone know the part numbers for the rails to put buckets into a RC?

crap, don't remember but just took a bolt with me for right thread pitch to HD and then got some the right thread and fender washers to fill the indentation. All I removed was the jack bracket down by floor and they bolt right up after removing the backwall piece. I used a piece of weatherstripping to fill across top small gap runnin along where back window meets top of bins.

I need to do the weatherstripping. Sounds like a good move.

yeah, if you score some good sized round shaped strip for like door seal, then you can squish it in there and IIRC, there is a small ledge inside the panel that keeps it from just falling in. I think I actually used door seal strip from my old 79-83 hilux, lol. Best pic of that area I have, almost can't even tell. Might be before I OCD'd it some to get it more level..................

Welcome to the "underpowered but over axled" club then lol. Big axles + small engine = less worry. I mean, anything can break, but it gives more peace of mind. Those will probably be the last axles you'll ever build.

The truck will surely be slower than before on the highway. Those axles and tires are really heavy. But I think it is totally worth it.

Because the off-road scene on Guam is red dirt with some deep ruts and idk. Nothing is set in stone. I'm just collecting parts atm if someone out here can show me longtravel is worth it for the trails we got then maybe I'll make one of those too. I will for sure have an SAS Tacoma.

The new race series total chaos is pretty nasty, an extra inch of ground clearance from there non race kit. My truck will rip in the desert but also creepy crawl the rocks and mud. I'm gonna run full float in the rear with ARBs front and back with 4.88s

I don't know man...seems like you have some high expectations for your LT. Being in AZ, if you really want to "creepy crawl the rocks" as you said, a SAS might be the best way to go.

LT is awesome, and AZ and the southwest in general has plenty of open space in the desert do do the go-fast stuff. But playing on rocks is kind of a different thing.

Solid axle for rocks. Tried and true. No ways around it. People get defensive but it's not saying anything bad about LT.

It's just a solid axle has less components to go wrong, more flex if set up right, and honestly even the little shit such as grading options are much better.

You can't even get 5.29s for the front of our trucks cause the diff.

solid axle is better for rock crawling. Fact.

Long travel is better for high speed desert. Fact.
