The 2.7L Single Cab Thread

I ended up putting on some of that grip tape on my sliders. I slipped on it one time barefoot and I would have broken my ankle or leg if it went down in between the truck and slider. The grip tape is well worth it. Mine were already welded on the truck when I got it so it's not worth removing them.

 

Ya I am considering doing the same thing because my girlfriend uses them as a step. Only concern is if the grip tape would snag my pants or leg getting out of the truck

 

I don't recall snagging pants yet but my sneaker really grabbed one time as I was pulling my leg away and I almost ended up doing a superman dive.

 

I got the wheels for a steal. 50 bucks for all 4 including center caps. Brand new

 

If you don’t mind me asking. Where did you get those sliders? They look awesome and I’d like a pair

 

They were on the truck when I bought it, but I think they are the Trail-Gear rock sliders. They measure out to 58".

Here's a picture of the frame showing the slider welded on. I painted the frame with POR15 since there was surface rust where the sliders were welded on.

Did some 1 1/4 spidertrax wheel spacers to get a little more outside the fender flares

 

I got my new 33x12.5" bfg km3's on. And you'll all love this, I got no rub at ride height, it will rub when flexed but not as it sits

 

The runner rims looks great I was considering those for a while but I got a stupid good deal on the taco rims.

 

Yeah that’s the same reason I got the 4Runner wheels. Got the whole set new with spare and center caps for $50.00.

Couple new pics with the 33x12.5 KM3's. These tires are so sticky off road. And unbelievably quiet, stock gears are a little rough on inclines but it's easily drivable

 

Got my navigation working yesterday.

 

How did you get that done? Been wanting navigation on mine.

 

A lot of research and time getting part numbers together and seeing what needs to be modded.

Went for a drive yesterday and the taco is making a new noise now after lifting it. Sounds like a rattle of some kind coming from the driveshaft when I’m coasting at highway speeds. Applying power stops the noise. I’m assuming that lifting the truck gave some slop in the driveline and it’s not as tight together as it was before. Anyone else experience this and have any solutions? Or should I just not worry?

 

Grease u-joints and/or carrier bearing.
