Huh yea i just askedhim. He has TRD rims on them so im guessing it might have been an aftermarket upgrade. Forgot to mention its also a Manual transmission which is great.

I believe the heaviest level, option 3 I think. The shop that installed it and I believed that setting would be the best setting with heavy camper shell on there as well as camping equipment and etc. There's a small rake, especially when compared to when it was stock, at least to me.

Sold my gfc (it was the perfect build but unfortunately the 4cylinder even though mated with a 5 speed) would struggle on hills at high elevation in Colorado and Utah but I love my softopper

Woah, just noticed this. For real? 2nd gen bins only? I have third gen bins removed (for my sub box) but I’m guessing they definitely won’t fit.

any more detail on this topic somewhere?

thanks I have not, when I went to put in my rear locker the guy at the gear shop told me it would make such a small difference it wouldn’t be worth the money so he recommended I don’t do it

Yeah, sometimes when Bessie is "chugging " in 4lo I think I gotta have it. Then around town I never even think about it.

I have heard that gears make night and day difference in the 4cyl from other members.

Chugging in 4low? Man 4 low has always been like crawl mode for me it seems unstoppable and has got me through a lot of otherwise impassable terrain. I can't seem to stall it either.

I think for the auto guys it makes a huge difference to regear I have a manual

my 4 low can crawl anything as well (I’ve done the entire Imogene pass almost exclusively in 1st gear 4lo)

Yeah, I don't like slipping the clutch and I have to feather the throttle to keep from stalling sometimes. I may also be accustomed to lower geared rigs. I guess i could use lower gears, or perhaps I should be more selective on where I go.

I'm going to 4.56 in my 2wd '05 RC 2.7 so I'll chime in with thoughts once that's done. Waiting in the queue for the install in a spare 3rd then I'll have to swap it in so hopefully by end of year at the rate I'm going.

Just got a 2013 regular cab Tacoma 4x4 automatic. Just under 70k miles. It’s salvage due to being hit in the rear and the truck bed getting bent. No frame damage so that’s good. Now I’m building a flatbed for it.
