The ride with 40 series tires actually seems better than the stockers I run during winter they're not rough at all and it's nothing but rough back roads to and from work. A lot better handling in the twisters and not sloppy at all.

Hi I'm new to this forum (Lurker). I'm in Markham ontario and have been using Jeep wranglers for my lawn cutting/snow plowing business. I can now buy a Tacoma Regular cab 4x4 4 cylinder auto from some dealerships that import them in from the USA. I've had a 4 cylinder stick Wrangler (years ago) and now a 6 cylinder auto that works great, the fuel and the amount of maintenance for the jeep (too many !@#$!@$ u-joints). I pull a trailer 1500 to 2000 lbs every day and plow in the winter. If anyone has a late model 2.7 regular cab 4x4 auto can tell me if they think it would handle the abuse please tell me. I only work in a 20 mile radius and rarely go the highway (never for my work). Thanks if you can help.

yeah, the 2.7 will definitely handle it. the auto is strong for towing and can handle 3500 pounds easily.

Can someone shed some light on the traction control modes for the reg cab? I just read a really informative thread about it but I think a lot of that stuff doesn't apply to the reg cabs, like the ATRAC system and locking rear diff and such. Mine has the auto lsd, which I've never used, not sure if the regular cabs have the trac system or what. I have two buttons, one with the truck with the wavy lines and another that says vsc off. What do you guys use when off road or in the snow?

Thank you....I'm so tired of doing U-joints and worrying about the transmission in my 2003 Rubicon, already rebuilt it once. Also does anyone one know what Auto transmission would be in the late model 4 cylinder 4x4 ? I would like to look up the model number...

I sent a PM to a guy that shows his 2.7 towing a huge enclosed trailer LOL...I don't need to do that :) I'm 47 and have 15 years of plowing and towing experience and remember using my 2.5 wrangler 5 speed to tow and it did the job...just long term it was rough on it. I have to look at mainly transmission over heating/daily towing with the same weight (not over loading it).

your truck looks great man.... i went with a procomp nitro lift kit. With my truck having only 6k on it i think that will do fine for now. im also going to throw some billys on it all around and just set the front at stock height. and then all i will need to do is replace the coils if i dont like the spacer. The one thing that worries me though is its a 3in spacer in the front and a 1'' in the rear. I dont think it will be level so i might have to put an aal in the rear.

Ya, I think I still have his Photobucket link on my clipboard.
I didn't actually go into PB... just tried to see if TW would display various arrangements of the quote.

Finally got my lift on. OME 884, Bilstein 5100's, Light Racing UCA's, Ironman 4x4 leaf springs. Was a long day but it came out great. Heres a picture of the front done, finished too late to get a pic of the rear completed too

    Replace the { } with [ ]

Using Photobucket, just go to the block where it says "IMG Code" and copy/paste that link to the forum directly.
