No. Didn't have time to ship and receive. No biggie, the break in sounded pretty simple.

What's that? Needle bearing removal as precautionary?

Follow up. Truck is in the shop, they looked at ABS sensors and apparently they all tested correct and operable. They're taking it to another shop to do a different 'scan' and see what that yields. Of note, they also said they inspected the Actuator and its functioning properly.

The Shop continues to be insistent that the Hypertech is what's needed to clear the ABS/DSC lights and suspects the 4WD is due to the truck being in a 'Limp' mode from said lights. Based on the feedback from this this forum, I'm proramming my new Hypertech with JUST the Wheel Diameter parameters (31" Old / 35" New) and then will plug this in to see what we get. Will NOT be entering in the differential data (old 3.91 / new 4.88).

Feel like we're just grasping at straws now and guessing what's going fix everything. Not throwing shade at the shop yet as they're trying to work with me. Just wishing I had an expert Taco mechanic who new exactly what was happening and could say, "oh yeah, here's the issue and we'll get it fixed ASAP" rather than a bunch of "i think... let's try this" going back and forth....

Also thinking that since the ABS/DSC lights come on instantly, without even shifting into gear, that the truck is sensing/reading a problem right away. It's NOT thinking everything is fine, then after driving reading any data and THEN turning on the lights. Like something is broken -OR- it's in "Limp Mode" as stated earlier. I'm not sure if the truck needs to be Reset, like disconnecting the battery or something. Again, I'm just guessing at troubleshooting.

Try unhooking the battery for a while and let everything reset.

The ole "did you unplug it and plug it back in" trick.

Is your hypertech hooked up correctly? I had the same lights until I flipped the connections on the board.

Sitting here at ECGS while they finish up installing my 4.88s. The anticipation is killing me.

Just got a new unit and there is no board anymore. The dongle has a female and male end, plugs directly line. I had the older version and am familiar with the board. Posted previously that I tried all combinations, which you suggested. Good thought! Tried that. ;)

Now I'm having issues with my hypertech after the 4.88s went in. The truck says Im averaging 10.8 mpgs while actual mpgs are around 12.7 mpg per my math (which could very possibly be quite questionable) and my speedo is 10 off after plugging the new data into the hypertech. Something does not seem right. Should I not have input my new gear ratio? How do I reset the hypertech to "new in box" status?

I think speed and odo are measured at the wheel, so changing gears won't change that. You only have to correct for increased tire size? I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

Have you unchecked the gear difffernce section and re-try it yet?

Do not put gears in hypertech it messes everything up only tire size. To revert use factory tire size for stock truck then redue it.

How do these trucks run with 4.88s on 265/75 r16 or similar? I've been searching and can't find someone with experience. How does it run through the gears?

So how are you liking the 4.88’s? Notice a difference at all? My truck is in the shop getting 4.88 nitro gears installed right now but won’t be finished till Monday. Anticipation is killing me.

Can you (or anyone) elaborate on the details of What is precisely happening and Why 'it messes everything up'. Not sure what 'everything' is, sorry just don't understand but there might be some value here if you can explain? Many thanks. Kind like going to the doctor and saying "i'm totally messed up" - he would ask you to please be more specific. ;) Only trying to learn specifics, again with hours trying to get to the bottom of many dynamic aspects. Again, thank you.

I'm asking because I'm knee deep in a whole 31" to 35" tire/wheel upgrade, 3.91-to-4.88 Nitro install and Hypertech programming. I've been troubleshooting for hours between this forum, Hypertech support (which incidentally was completely MIA yesterday along with a non-functional website) and my shop. Many of whom are giving me "I think" and "it should be" and "have you tried" or "a guy once said" ... not trying to be cynical, just honestly trying to get real data and specifics to fix, not experiment - which is what I feel I'm doing with opposing ideas. :)

Again, thank you! Once I'm out of the woods on my build, I'll be happy to document exactly what happened along the way, what I learned and try to provide the What, Where, When, Why and How it all came together.
