seems like most the 3rd Gen threads are nothing but complaints. Lets keep this one without those, granted I'm starting this thread bitching about the other bitching threads :D

Pretty happy with my 13' right now. Will see how reliable this 3rd gen is about 8 years and a facelift or two down the road and will make my decision then, just like I did with my 13'.

I'd be torn too if I were buying new. I like a lot of things about it and dislike some things. The interior is awesome and love the dark tan seats especially on that blue! I like the exterior as well (without the air dam). The things they changed and didn't change kinda cancel each other out... The biggest thing I'm curious about is the new engine and 6spd. It will be nice to hear how they are when people actual start buying it and driving it.

I plan on having my 13' for many more years to come so the new 16' will have plenty of time to mature

I think those mocked up pictures that have been floating around with the air damn removed, color matched parts, lift, wheels, and a mesh grill look better than any other Tacoma.

    nothing cool
If I had the money I would sure consider it. If the back window went down like a Tundra or 4Runner I'd be sold for sure. I'm happy with my 2011 and it's paid off in 2 more years. But I bet a new 2016 Black DCSB TRD Off-Road looks good.

    LOVE my 13 too!

You're right. I warned him that with any brand new release, there will be kinks to work out..probably some TSBs as well.

Nice to see the Crawl and MTS features carrier over from the FJ and 4runner. Not enough details yet how everything works (no ATRAC button anymore for example) but it seems like it could be a nice OR upgrade for the 3rd gens.

I like it a lot. Has almost everything I want except a power rear window and seats. I will be trading in my 12 for a 17 next year. My 12 should be paid off by then and it will give them a year to fix any bugs. I hope it has better MPG but I don't expect it to be that much better, maybe 2 MPG better is my guess.

I think a lot of people don't like it because most people don't like to say they like it better than what they have and also they wanted a total redesign. Why would you redesign the number 1 selling midsize truck. Unless the other manufactures start cutting into profits it won't change much.

Being torn between the '15 and '16 has to be painful. I hope he gets better soon.

I love it - the 2015 had me leaning toward the Canyon, and the 2016 brought be back to the fold. That and the blue of the Limited is just insane. Love it - can't wait to add all my Captain America shit to it. It'll fit in perfectly in Austin with the "Shield" Acura, "Umbrella Corporate Car" Corolla and "Klingon" F-150.

He saw BeePee's thread where he Photoshop'd some mods onto it and it does look good, I won't lie..just takes money to get there. Hopefully thw price of the 15 will be lower so he can have more money for mods! BRAAAAAP!

I like what we can see. Very much on the fence with the new v-6. Gotta wait and see.
Silver OR short bed auto with trailer package. Tool boxes and sliders should transfer.

I could see myself in that Limited DCLBFTMFW old man truck, but with a MT (hope they still do that by the time I get there) ... not for 2-3 yrs ... got to pay off my wife's new Highlander first.

    There, I said it. :D

    Likes:

    - MANUAL transmission still offered (DCSB w/manual needs to be confirmed though)
    - improved engine
    - interior - black, yay!
    - projector headlights
    - parking brake with a lever
    - sunroof (but I bet it won't be offered on TRD O/R ):

    Undecided:
    - exterior - the snout is little too long, but looks ok in pictures, need to see one in person to really decide

    Dislikes:
    - front bumper difficult to replace with aftermarket

Overall a winner, no deal breakers really. Sure, they could have made it even better: manual transfer case, bigger moonroof, etc, but overall things are looking better than expected.
