I’ve been meaning to do this for a while! Another member on this forum gifted me the ECGS tool and bearing driver kit for the cost of shipping and I really wanted to pass this along to other members to support the community.

    Here are the rules:

    1. you need to post a few photos of your install process, including 1 of using the tool, like this:

    A817D5B4-596B-436B-895D-A659576173BB.jpg C45E347E-E650-436A-9F94-0BAEA6F3115C.jpg 24610642-4126-4CBB-9388-1E2F7C6B7EDB.jpg F16C81E5-32FE-4086-A4C8-6B1210EB8EE8.jpg

    2. you need to talk about any issues that you had during the install.

    I had many lol.
    - I damage the tie rod end boot so got a replacement from Toyota and installed that.
    - I STRUGGLED to get the axel out. Ended up using a large demo bar as a cold chisel along with a 26 oz dead blow. I really wish I had a bigger hammer.
    - Didn’t have a seal puller so totally wrecked the first bearing. Ended up driving in the next seal too far and had to take apart everything to replace, which was a pain. Ended up buying a seal puller, which damaged that seal so replaced with another lol.
    - I COULD not get the ECGS puller to seat behind the bearing so I used an angle grinder to taper the edges slightly. This helped but it was still a pain.
    - did I mention that this was a huge pain of a job, and that I’m not a mechanic?

    3. post any reference material that you found helpful.

    4. You need to sign the kit with your TW name!

    6C00412A-193C-4509-8541-95899325990A.jpg

    5. You need to pass it along to whom ever is next in the order the posted on this thread! Let’s keep this Canadian, sorry US friends. It will be up to you and the other Member to co-ordinate shipping and address. Do that via PM. Whoever wants it next will pay the shipping cost! Don’t be dicks people if you say you’re going to take it, send an EMT promptly. If you’re the one shipping it, send it out Promptly. Get a quote from Canada post and for the most part, you should be pretty close to accurate. Most things don’t cost more than 20-30$ to ship across country, a lot of the time even less. Post who you will be sending it to next.

    6. Be patient! It can take time with family and other priorities for some to do this job. I got this In October/November, and did the job this past week, which took me multiple days (mostly because I found out I needed things after I started and had to redo the diff seal). Try not to take as long as me!

    7. If you’d like, add some stuff to the kit. So far I’ve added a PVC coupler that worked perfectly for driving the seal and a seal puller.

    2F2F1296-CDBE-4661-8844-BF6C632FFE21.jpg

I hacked up the case a bit to get most of the stuff to fit inside.

I can’t anticipate how this will turn out but I hope we can all help each other out.

First person to post that they want it next in this thread will get priority!

    8. don’t be afraid to post a photo of your truck.

I will keep a list of who’s had it if I can keep up!

If you have access to a lift you can actually do the ecgs without removing the outer cv from the front wheel bearing. If you pull the 2 19mm bulbs holding the lower ball joint bridge to the lower control arm. You them pull the driveshaft/inner cv out of the front differential and swing the steering knuckle towards the back of the truck and tuck the inner cv joint up towards the top off the front differential. Then all the work is done from under the truck. I he last one I did the owner of the truck kept asking why we were doing it that way as it’s not what all the videos showed. Much less parts touched and removed. Would be difficult on jack stands but on a lift there is enough room to do it all fairly easily.

    @Haun0002 ,
I'd be interested in borrowing the kit.
I'm better at removing broken studs than pm'ing...
    Sorry still the learning curve.
