The new slide adds just about 1" to overall height. What helps a little, is the way fridge (cfx3 75) sits "in" the slide. The legs fall into prepared holes in the slide making it a little shorter, making it a hair over 18 3/8". So then, from bottom of the slide (flat surface that slide is bolted to) to the top of fridge we get 19 7/16".

    Hope that helps

    Thanks,
Yeah, that confirms it will be too tall to fit beneath the Retrax cover. I have approximately 480mm [18-7/8"] available.

I did see @Papadave418 came up with a neat channel securement idea for a base support frame; hard to find precisely what he did, but the methodology is clear - cantilevered frame with two bolts anchoring down the cab end in a pair of channels, and a safety strap to prevent the entire thing from sliding out of the tracks and on your toes. The posts are a bit spread out over a few threads between what people have done, but they do show it is possible to fit a 75/95 under a diamondback cover on some form of pull out. He also noted that he is prototyping one for production as well for anyone else thinking about it.

I might be leaning towards just heaving it 90º out of it's transport position to the same place I have my cooler in that photo above - accessible from standing in front of the tailgate, used while prepping & cooking, and just push it back when we pack up to leave camp.

For whatever reason I thought the jackery has pass through charging, or whatever this feature is called, that as long as it's plugged into power it will charge itself and in the same time pass the power through to the fridge. Maybe I'm getting it confused with another brand...

Yes, it does have pass-through charging. This was to get an idea of just how much power do I need in the worst case (with freezer, running just the Jackery) when camping.

The CFX3 slides will add 1.14 inches to the total height of whatever CFX3 cooler you have. For the CFX3 75DZ with its 18.58" height, this would work out to 19.72" total height

No refreshes that I've heard .

I monitor the forum discussions pretty closely but may have missed something about the CFX3 covers. Can you send me a link?

I can say that the CFX3 covers are meant to be protective rather than an insulator so perhaps that's what you are referring to?

    Thanks!

Oh, glad I found this thread.

    I've purchased a CFX3 55IM and the cover about 2 months ago.

I noticed some temperature variance. Have the temp set at the default 36º. Usually I've seen the temp between 34 and 37, that's fine. Occasionally I've seen the temp dip to 32º and a couple of times it was 30º, lowest was once, in the afternoon, it dipped to 26º . Highest temp observed was 40º and that was once. The outside temps ran from the low 60s at night and hi 80s during the day. The CFX3's temp variance didn't seem to follow whether it was night or day.

I like ice, so I kept the ice maker on the entire time.

Certainly not scientific and more along the lines of observations but it was still concerning. I'm not sure what I should expect and wondered what others had observed.

I think that's where my concern was/is. The cover is designed to protect rather than insulate as the older covers did (from what I've read in other reviews). As long as the current cover available doesn't cause temp increases or additional power draw to account for higher temps, I'm good.

Thx. Look forward to the fridge arriving. BTW, decided to go with the 45 instead. Thx!

If you haven't already, I would email them as opposed to just hitting them up on a truck forum. You'll probably get a faster response.

Hi - do you have plenty of space around your cooler? If the fan is having a hard time flowing air it will be working too hard and can go into this error condition. Even if it doesn't you still want a buffer around your cooler so it can flow air as well as heat away from the cooler.

Thank you so very much for the reply! I had about 3" around the fridge. It seems to blow the hot air out to the right if you are looking at the control screen on the fridge. I had it on the right hand side of my truck bed, roughly 3" away from the bedside. Ive moved it to the Left side about the same distance away from the bedside and it hasnt given me the code again, been running it off AC to test it out for the next few days. Cheers and thank you again for the quick response! appreciate it

Am I the only one who wishes Dometic would make a smaller dual zone? The 75 is way to big for a weekend solo trip and the 55im really doesn't make any usable ice. There is no room to store frozen stuff in it also. Is there a trick to turning your Dometic down to 32 degrees and placing a divider in the compartment in order to isolate the coils creating a kind of freeze zone? I would rather buy a quality Dometic then the cheap $300 fridges.
