Oh and a few pictures from this past weekends two day excursion, we pushed it off saying we were not gonna go due to all the rain, but then said screw it and went anyways. Kicked back with my buddy, whom no longer owns a taco, but is still welcome as he drives the Lexus version of an LC 200.

We were just outside of Golden BC, no off-roading, just a FSR road looking for a place to camp and just veg, neither of us had really had the time to go out camping, both started new jobs, I moved to a new place and just the old life getting in the way it seems. It was also my dog gos first bday, and it turns out she has figured out how to get from the ground up into the drifter, which is new. Best travel buddy, although I gotta work out a system where she sleeps on the ground floor or bed of the truck, hopefully this summer I have the time to finish the interior of the truck bed for organization.

Also if anyone is looking for a electric chainsaw, I highly recommend the Milwaukee, I picked one up awhile back and that sucker is freaking amazing. Lots of power to cut up 2-3 days of fire wood, just do not go wild with cutting 12-16” deadfall with it, or it will kill the battery. Keep it to 6-8” and you can easily get 30-40 mins of cutting. Which leaves ya about an hour or so of splitting wood to work out the demons from the night before.

Yeah she’s a looker, decently trained, although she has her moments where she is like nope today I am the boss, we get in a fight, hate each other then make up and we are good to go and back to her listening to me. Happens every few months or so.

She also loves the drifter, basically it is her dog house or she thinks it is anyways. She was super happy with it from day one, was never sure how to get up but she figured that out. I also took out the extension as it is just her and me and I do not need a million blankets now to stay warm at night.

I think you are right, one can never go wrong with bare aluminum or black. Thanks! At what point does Vagabond reach out to their customers to finalize details? I assume its when the payment is due.

Question on the goosegear: Can the drawers be switched? For example the fridge drawers on the driver side instead of the passenger or are they built to specifically be on those sides?

That’s a valid question. I think the baseplate is drilled for that specific arrangement. I may be wrong about that and it’s best to get Phil or Iggy in here to answer that question.

Although, I’m not quite sure why one would want to add more weight to the side that has the driver and the fuel tank...

I'm thinking of doing a partial goosegear set up. I'd like the drawers on the passenger but my fridge without any shelving on the driver for ease of access with the windoor

I think if the baseplate supports it then the side shouldn't matter. I personally want to get the full set to make space for kids to sleep on the lower deck. Otherwise its a 2 person tent and there are 4 of us.

How big are your kiddos? I know my toddler and mother in law can sleep on the current Goose Gear “L” shape platform in my shortbed. But MIL is typical old/short Chinese lady.

Well now, I guess it’s time to start cutting back on the protein and start loading a high starch diet for those kiddos. That’ll keep em within range for the next 4 years or so... or, there’s always the Nomad upgrade.

You can always drill new holes in the Goose Gear platform and put in new t hardware.

Or just flip the baseplate and then flip the hardware...

This morning some pictures were posted over on the Hondo Garage's New Thing thread showing that there is some overlap with a gfc and the habitat rack on a DCSB. Since the Drifter has a larger overhang than the gfc, you'd have a fair bit of additional overlap.
