You can mount Thule load bars, Yakima load bars, Kuat Rack load bars, front runner racks(if width works out for bars, Prinsu racks(same as frontrunnner)...

I’m not going to google all the part numbers you would need. I’ll leave that up to you.

If you aren’t internet savvy, I would suggest going into a place like Rack R Us or some place that specializes in racks. They can sell you everything you would need. Hell, even a place that sells campershells will know what to do.

If you are in the Bay Area I can show you how it works on my shell.

Exactly. You just climb up to bed from inside. The bed platform is about 43" from the floor. Several ways to get into bed:

    • Folding stepstool or bin: a 12" folding stepstool will make the climb only 31" high. A Frontrunner Wolfpack or Action Packer works too.
    • Built-in bench: This is probably the most common way to get in. With a camper, a bench is ubiquitous.
    • Drawer system: Obviously raises the floor level and makes it easier to get into bed.
    • Step on the ledge: You can step on the bedrail and climb up. It's fairly easy.
Just used to it I guess. In no case have I considered a ladder though.

I’d like to add 43” isn’t that high. Just mantle up there.

I’m pretty short (5-5) on a good day. I found it very easy to get up and down just using my ice chest as a step. Like most things, going up is more difficult than coming down but even then, up is easy!

@Iggy, I really like your camper, I can’t wait to place my order. I’m already planning a trip to California to go see it in person and hopefully pick one up. I have a trip to the East Coast planned this summer and hope I’ll be using a Drifter.

The only question I have is how hard is it to take on and off the truck?

Set a DCSB Drifter aside for me.

Yes, universal for mounting bars. So many options and the easiest way to mount aluminum angle for low-mount solar panels.

We don't have it advertised, but if a customer wants Frontrunner, Rhino, Yakima, or Thule racks, we can do that too.

do you know the distance between the L-tracks when mounted on the roof? I have to take a rack off the cab... if it mounts, i may keep it.

51” center to center. There are many ways you can adapt a different width rack to L-track. It’s very versatile with the stud mounts.

Where are you guys sourcing your l track? Unless you don't want to say I understand. Or can I just buy some from you sometime? Looking to add it to my habitat.

I wanted to update everyone on what's been happening lately. We pushed back the counter 1 week today. This was to give us more time to wrap up some loose ends so when we launch we have all the media and resources to address all your questions. Our goal is to provide you with all the information you need to make a purchase. We will also offer preorders to our mailing list first. Please feel free to hit us up with questions here in the mean time!

In the shop we are buttoning up the production line and getting our new fixtures and machines operational. This is the part where we "embrace the suck"; long hours of work and all we want to do is make campers! It's all necessary though and we are enjoying every minute of it.

We really appreciate your support and can't wait to get more of these drifting on the trail!
