Hopefully in January 2019 so we get two straight months of Blakeness.

Got to see the completed Drifter yesterday at the meet. Immediately brought back nostalgia with the camper smell. After seeing the space inside the bed and sleeping area, makes me wish I was a touch shorter and had a truck. I could easily see myself using the crap out of one of these.

2 people up top. I plan on making it livable underneath for kids/dog as well though

Two people. 48” x 80”. Because the entire living area has a “ledge” around the perimeter, an optional panel can be added to create a 108” long mattress.

We could have made the top wider, but it’s fairly challenging to navigate tight trails with a wider roof. The width is very evident when you’re off-camber through the trees.

The V-1’s had the same width top. In the situation below, the tires on the opposite side were on the edge of a portion of the trail that was made up of scree. I really couldn’t safely get further over. With the 4wc, I would have had to back down the narrow trail about 500’.

And I wouldn’t have made it to the top.

My camper will have a lower bed. Or a walking space in the middle, between a bench and high cabinet, with a panel that covers that space to make a twin-sized bed. With a 30” space, between the rear and of the camper and the extended (6’-8”) sleeping platform, it’s easy to access the lower level. Which means I can step down, get dressed, and climb out of the camper without anyone getting out of bed. And also check on them easily. Not to mention my heater will be mounted in the lower area so we don’t have to worry about an elaborate system to get heat to the upper bed. This sleeping setup works well since the kids are 5 & 8, and will still work until they’re over 5’ tall. The longbed people won’t have these issues...

    Congrats? ;)

Cool. I would consider the same but my kid just turned 13 and the short bed is ALREADY too small for him to sleep in.

    Oh 13? No problem

In all seriousness, if you have more than 2 full size adults and 1 grown kid, this may not be the answer for you. Unless Phil/Iggy have other solutions I haven't thought of yet. I don't have any kids at the moment and my truck will die before my future kid(s) is too small to fit in the truck bed. Hell, my short ass can still sleep in the truck bed at a diagonal
