Roger roger, Rodger! You’ll have clearance depending on your crossbar setup. I have some old, discontinued Thule feet I’m using that work perfectly for me. But, I’ve seen others come up with some really nifty solutions. We should connect.

So...belloinsella...how is it that you know about the MaxxAir fan replacement? Not on their website. No answer to my email a few weeks ago (not to mention an earlier one) asking about it vs. the Fantastic.
Realizing I am not much in the way of posting what I do or have done (because I have not done anything yet) but rather reviewing others inputs, it always seems I am out of the information loop when I read things like this about the fan and a few others things noted here but not on the Vagabond website. How do y’all get your news/information/updates?
    Just curious...

I know this isn't exactly what you're asking, but I can confirm that they're installing maxxair fans now because that's what was installed on my drifter. Pretty sure the standard led light they're installing has also been updated. It's dimmable and switches between white and orangeish-yellow, which I think is new.

As far as where people get they're info...I think the simplest explanation is that it's just kinda word of mouth. I know that can be frustrating, but they really are a tiny operation just trying to get campers out the door efficiently.

Yup, I get that. Did not know about the updated lights either. Both lights and fan are (hopefully) positive updates to the previous ones.
Again as I have said before; the curse of waiting.
    Thanks for the response

I really like the new light. I've only spent two nights in the Drifter, but we camped with our newborn and having a dimmable orange nightlight was fantastic for middle of the night diaper changes and feedings. That, coupled with the sounds of crickets, it was just like the real deal baby soother :angrygirl:, aka the sound machine we bought for the nursery!

I think it was stated on this thread a few pages back. Pretty sure Phil saying that they were looking at the small Maxxair because it had dual arms and they were installing their own switch so it can run in reverse.

Thats cool, I actually dont mind the waiting when I hear about nifty upgrades likes that. Who knows maybe I can even get the solid aluminum rear hatch by the time my Drifter is built.

Today we made a test version of the Drifter bug screen for the rear hatch. Two changes need to be made, but we're happy with the fit. The top is secured with 5 snaps. The snaps are the screw-in type and replace 5 screws on the aluminum frame. The sides are all magnetic and the middle will open and reattach to itself with magnets. Can be used with the tailgate open or closed. We need to try two different ideas before it ready and we will likely ask a few questions soon for input. It's made from a vinyl coated fiberglass, No-See-Um rated. More details to come shortly.

Awesome work! Put me on your list for one of these, cab window cover, hatch window cover and covers for side windows (which I hope you’ll make as well. I plan on one slider and one windoor) lol!

I'd definitely be interested in the rear hatch screen.

It would be nice to have screens for the windoor / front runner windows as well.

That's our plan. We'll be stopping by the VO booth at the Van Expo in Tahoe this weekend. Will try and get some templates made and will report back.
