Edge trim on the interior, removable bed extension, optional short (12”) extension, and less firm (still high density) mattress.

Some of these items were in development and we already planned on the interior edge trim. We basically asked these gentlemen to bring out their inner basicness (not the good kind), and they gave us great feedback.

That was already in the original design ;)

Nice to hear about the removable extension. I was already thinking about how to accomplish that after the fact.

Wondering about corrosion - I get the guys wanted to get the first ones out right away and I was pretty impressed to see three go out the door looking so good. That said, I don't think raw aluminum is a long term solution due to corrosion. I camp on the coast in Baja and salt is on everything, beyond that, roads are salty, the desert is salty, etc.. How will the aluminum surface reflect that, will there be signs of corrosion or pitting? I'm wondering if they have posted how much for paint or powder-coating on the Drifter? Seems to me this would be a necessary add on for some or most if you want to keep it for a while.

Thanks! Getting these out the door was no easy task and the help we received from friends was monumental.

5052 is commonly used in marine environments and is highly corrosion resistant. For us land lubbers, pitting would not be an issue.

Someday I would like to mount a Drifter on a Boston Whaler, which would be the true test. For above- hull applications, I’m sure it would do very well!

    FTFY. ;)

Almost added that to our bullet- point specs, but we’re trying to keep that family friendly...

Appreciate the feedback on the aluminum, but I also like the painted look and being around salt a lot, I'd like it for corrosion protection. Do you guys have a price yet for the painted version? Thanks

I used the removable 12” bed extension this weekend. It was awesome! Made the sleeping area HUGE while still leaving a little under 2’ of room at the end to get in or out to access the area below. During the day while hanging out i removed it and was able to use it as a bench along the side of my bed on my wheel well. It was perfect.
My plan was to incorporate it into my side storage/drawer system as the lid/bench. Then when i wanted to make the already big bed area even bigger, i could use it for a bed extension.

I bet it would also make a perfect extra table/counter space along the outside of the bed. Maybe a little eyelet at each corner and some thin cable to hang it from the side of the camper, or a couple slots attached to the camper that would accept vertical tabs integrated to the edge of the extension.

...Though you wouldn't want to be spilling food on it unless you skinned it with some thin stainless or something.

Will there be an option for the drifter to have a window where the rear window is, for access to the cab when you are inside?

Is that customizable? I am wanting to install a fully opening rear window to be able to climb into the camper when stealth camping and would love to know if this would be a possibility.

That's a neat idea. Not sure what the opening size would be for Tacoma. I would need to keep my trim figure so I wouldn't get stuck:eek:

There is a window there. It comes standard and drops down. There's also an option to get a sliding window.

We have a few ideas and may try to integrate them. We can’t wait to see the creative ways people use them at camp!

No need for customization! The standard window has a drop-down feature for cleaning. The whole window is hinged along the bottom frame.

Still no interior pictures, construction detail pictures, details or photos of the tent interface, windows, side doors with or without the windows, what the bed looks like with or without the extension, mattress pictures, even a picture of a simple sleeping bag to show length. This is simple shit that would answer 90% of people's questions.

I'm really interested in insulation, but all I see is an option. I don't know if it can come with side doors, I don't know what type of insulation I'm getting, how thick, what kind of finish, if they're is a finish or it's just a chunk of fiberglass. DETAILS!

You're expecting people to throw down a 50% deposit on something and all they have is 8 versions of the same exterior shot with 2 videos of the thing opening IF they troll The shit out of Instagram if people they don't know. I am very interested in the product, but you aren't going to see a dime until you release more details.

That right there shows me you have no idea what you're talking about. There is zero fiberglass on the camper.

    Check out the build
We are working on releasing more details. The preorders are for those that are part of the mailing list and want to get at the front of the line for production.

We’re getting videos of everything but it takes time. I understand you’re frustration and we are moving at 110%.

For those that have ordered you won’t be disappointed and we’ll be reaching out shortly to discuss everything over the phone.
