Yeah I donno man I’m in a bit of a pickle here I won’t get rid of my adapt but I don’t wanna cut the prinsu to a baby rack. Perhaps I can mount the adapt straight to the roof of the truck.

Just lose the roof rack! Not a big deal. Or have a baby prinsu.

I really dig the look of my prinsu/light bar set up. And if I decide to take the camper off for the summer or if I need the open bed it won’t look silly all short

Ah roger. All up to you man. I sold my prinsu and put the money towards the Drifter! I dig the look too. Maybe have 2 racks? Just an idea.

If this is something I can have built with slightly different specs I’d pay extra for the design change to be able to run the prinsu with it. Also would wanna shorten the sleeping platform length to cover half the cab maybe less. (I’m not very tall). I don’t mind the cost I’ll pay for exactly what I want. I love this set up just wish it fit my build how I like :pout:

If you’re ever out in UT, I can get you taken care of! I run a wrap shop (regional test facility for Avery also) and am planning on wrapping my drifter and truck to match when it’s ready.

@FondlingVinyl, hope the offer is open to all. Although my Drifter was painted, my roof wasn't. I was thinking wrap as solution. Planning to take another Utah road trip in 2020 (Canyonland-> Valley of the Gods-> Diamond Creek/Grand Canyon)... Maybe coordinate a stop?

My shop is in Woods Cross, just north of Salt Lake City. If anybody is interested, feel free to shoot me a pm. We are called Vinyl Wurx. I also could co-ordinate doing a few wrap installs while out in CA while picking up my drifter summer 2020 if anybody is interested! Because these are generally outside and this is a horizontal piece, I suggest/plan on coating the wrapped roof with a ceramic coat, or re-wrapping every year, or doing a PPF film over the top of the wrap. The sun will destroy the vinyl if not protected. The ceramic coat kit costs about $100 and lasts multiple uses (enough for a full car), re-apply yearly.

We will talk when your drifter is ready. I’m local to the VO HQ. Like, really, really local.

Anyone with a short bed gen 2 running a drifter for a gladiator for prinsu clearance? I’m chatting with Phil via email and he suggested this to me, I’m very excited to see there is an option to cater to my love for my roof setup! Also I thought I read somewhere someone was running a alu-cab 270 on their drifter how is that set up mounted?

This guy has an Alucab 270 on his.

I also believe Vagabond has been mounting them for customers.

There are many Drifter owners out there with 270 awnings mounted at the VO factory. Check out the Vagabond_Outdoors Instagram account. The rollout videos show ample inspiration.

Long time lurker, first time poster here on TW. Hope to add something to the conversation / community and very grateful for all the tips and info everyone has shared to date.

Just curious, would anyone be able to weigh in with the longest they have waited on their Drifter between order and notification that their unit is ready for installation? I’m currently sitting at over 13 months and still don’t have a solid understanding of when to expect the call. I realize my situation might be unique with powder coating, but I’m just curious if I’m an outlier or the norm. I know the wait will be worth it, but I’m beyond all my time expectations at this point. Thanks in advance.
