Each corner will have the option to have a white and/or red light. That way the truck bed can be illuminated while the top is down or up. The roof has an option for lighting as well.

Does anyone know the height difference between 2nd gen and 3rd gen? I guess the net of bed height difference and cab height difference, if any.

I don’t. But if you want to take some measurements on your 3rd gen, I’d be happy to take the same measurements on my 2nd gen.

    3rd gen is 1.1” higher.

Edit: the net difference is 1.1”. The bed is 1.1” higher than the 2nd gen’s.

Here’s a pic of the lower half on one:

@Porter707 will soon have the other half ;)

    Thanks for your order!

MJ is correct (and on point/ fire tonight!) We will start production shortly after coming back from Overland Expo and will contact you directly with an expected delivery date.

This is what I've been wanting to see! How the sleeping platform moves and opens up standing space in the truck bed. I'm still not sure how this will change for the LongBed version. Will the sleeping platform overhang 12" into the truck bed when stacked? Thus losing a small amount of total standing room? Or can there be 2 sleeping platforms for the LongBed? Which would allow for the full 6' truck bed to open. Sounds confusing? Maybe I can draw something.

The amount of standing room is the same on both models. The long bed extension is a bit longer than the short bed because the length difference but the overall idea is the same.

We will be offering the longer extension from the LB for SB folks that want a longer mattress and can live with less standing room.

    Got it. Thanks Iggy.
I just realized if I could open the sleeping platform all the way there would most likely not be enough headroom to stand anyway. Due to the wedge shape. So I'm sure you guys thought of all these details already.

Thank you! We wouldn't make assumptions about differing heights though!

The sleeping platform does open up all the way to the cab wall on the longbeds. The fixed portion (cabover) does not extend into the cab when the sleeping platform is retracted. I'm 6'-2" and can stand, with room over my head, at the cab wall of a DCSB. I'll measure and let you know the standing height, at the cabwall, for the longbed.

The primary reason for going higher is so you can sit up in bed. Something we couldn't do in the 4wc. And the height I measured at the peak, in a 2nd gen, is 8'-6". Headroom for days...
