Yeah they look great going down the road with the door/entire side missing because someone used a razor blade to brake into it, or it just fell off because the hinges are garbage. And what a great idea to have the whole side open up but then build the cage that compleatly block you from being able to get anything in or out of the bed from the side.

    It's DLX son!
Frontrunner specs their door at 35lbs, crazy to think the regular glass windoors save that much weight. Wonder if the solid panel option is lighter than the glass.

Powder coat probably adds several pounds when you consider the surface area.

GFC is a rust bucket! Would never recommend one of those.

I have a friend that just delivered his GFC to them for a 'refresh' that includes powdercoat, new hinges, seals, etc. GFC needs to spend less time on IG and get their sh***t together.

Hmmm, yeah something doesn't add up if they're only 35 lbs each... Weird.

No offense taken, just wanted to know what your reasoning was. GFC side flaps are an interesting idea, but turn out to be impractical. Someone said they leak but not sure about that. And like I said tent windows are in the wrong place, struts are outside and exposed. But yeah the extruded aluminum wedge top sides are cooler than the Drifter, and it takes a cool photo with the flaps open as long as the camera focus isn't sharp enough to see all the bugs.

Just yankin' yer chain. It's an interesting design. Weighs 100 lbs. less than the Drifter, which counts. To each his own.

there’s a laundry list of known issues, most documented on this forum. Got to the point of them abandoning this forum to start their own so they can control the narrative. End of the day you’d be the buyer. Research is on you. Let’s not go down that tangent and derail this thread, again. Free market ftw

I prefer the Vagabond but the rest of the family likes the GFC. Too bad the hospital hinges don't hold up. I wondered about that when the little dude with beard in the installation video said use two hands and don't put pressure on any one side when opening/closing. I am currently leaning to a Hiker Trailer Deluxe. I know you guys probably don't care since this is a vagabond thread. I apologise.

This is a thread specifically about the Vagabond Campers and questions. Since you still seem to be trying to make up your mind, there are other threads about the various wedge campers and comparisons on this forum.
Here’s one with links to each manufacturer:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/wedge-campers-assorted-oddities.538935/

Everyone here likes to answer questions about the Vagabond but you don’t seem like you have your mind made up so maybe ask questions about all the campers and compare.

If I order the insulation package but not the powder coat option, what color are the interior walls. I assume white? What material are the walls made of with the insulation package?

There are three hinges in the front. The person I was quoting (who admittedly sounds like he's trolling the forum to tweak Vagabonders) said something about weak hinges. I'm wondering 1) if anyone thinks this is true, 2) do we indeed have to take care to open up from the center, not putting too much pressure on either side, to reduce strain on these three hinges, and 3) does anyone think a continuous hinge would work better?

I assume the answer is no. Generally lighter-duty hinges, not to mention more bolt holes. I was just wondering what you guys thought.

    Just the basics
Have there been any complaints or issues with the hinges VO uses? I've not heard of any.
    Must be trolling.
