South... and you know, just a little west, for you. :)

Some people have had their Drifters shipped - but I'm not sure what that would look like or cost across international lines.

Look on the bright side. Maybe, a year from now, California will be safe to visit again without worrying about the 'rona.

At the current rate of production maybe he should plan for 2 years from now.

COVID aside, quality takes time. Could look into competitors, but you’d have to send it back for ‘retooling’ in the first year, on top of a 18month wait. Also, IIRC the last orders picked up we’re around 13-14 months.. not two years..

Two years seems like an excessively negative outlook to me. But even if so, the quality of the Drifter would be worth it. I'm so stoked on mine. No more worrying about my camper when charging 4x4 roads. Very glad to have switched over.

And, I gotta say - coming from a manufacturing business myself (two, actually) - times are strange right now. Between raw material availability issues, employee scheduling issues, and insane demand in the outdoor industry at large, it's difficult to have a baseline for "normal" any more. And that's before we begin to think about potential lockdowns of the future. I think the Vagabond guys are probably doing their best to keep putting out quality products while also trying to navigate a newly-insane world.

I’m also in Canada (British Columbia) and am just a little over 11 months since placing my order. Things are tricky right now with COVID and can totally understand delays due to distributors etc. for materials and everyone’s health/safety. My biggest issue is how I will get it once it’s ready. I was planning on making a road trip down but who knows when the boarder will reopen. I may need to look into options for shipping but I’d imagine it won’t be cheap up to Igloo-ville.

Well, perhaps a lengthier wait is ok in the end. I've got other bills to pay in full well before then. I'm almost tempted to go with an AT Summit if they can hammer one out sooner - but the Drifter seems to be our best fit.

I'll see what Vagabond has to say, still waiting on a reply regarding wait times given the present circumstances.

In the end, driving to Benicia is a just an opportunity to do that road trip through the US. We'd return with a camper and who knows might be exempted from paying the 13% sales tax if our stay south of the border gets longer.

I'll start bugging everyone for routes to get me down there starting from Niagara Falls...

    How’s that GFC treating ya?
Have your doors flown off on the highway yet?

I’m pretty sure it’s actually GFC that is closer to 2 years wait.
At least with a Drifter you know you can actually use it and not have to wait even longer to have a “pit crew” drive around the country making half assed repairs on a already half assed camper.....

But what do i know. I’ve never had any issues with my Drifter at all much less the ridiculous issues many have had with other companies junk campers

Seems to be averaging 1 year to 13 months.

Wasn't trying to make this a GFC vs. your Boyz argument.

I actually purchased a build spot that came up for sale recently (#166, original deposit Sep 2019), so you could say I have a vested interest.

Had you been anything but a raging asshole towards me over the past two years I probably would have made the switch sooner.

Look pal. You have been a gfc fanboy from the get go and only seem to want to stir shit up. The fact you waited so long to get in line for a Drifter and finally saw the light is no ones fault but your own. Also, if you are blaming me for your not switching to the best camper on the market and sticking with a sub par setup, that is the most childish shit I’ve ever heard.
On that note, welcome to the family. You have just upgraded your camping experience more than you know and i can guarantee you will be happier than you have been while camping in the last two years
