I know a guy that knows a guy...
My friend picked up a Nomad and snagged a set for me and hand delivered them. Kind of a last minute thing that I didn’t have time to set up a group buy.

Considering adding black powder coating to my order. Definitely want to have the lower part done but I’m on the fence about the top. I’d imagine the inside of the Drifter would get quite a lot hotter with the top powder coated. Anyone have the top powder coated black and wish they hadn’t?

They can do just the sides of the top in a wrap and leave the bulk of the top raw so it doesn't soak up so much heat.

Do the whole top in white. There are a couple of folks that did that.

I'll see if I can get some pics this weekend.
Not finished but I got my curtains test fitted. Also working on a screen that I can put in the windoors but can easily take out for grab thru access.

Since a few folks are talking rear lighting, I did some LED stip on the rear hatch. good light distribution and coverage for cooking etc. Doesn't solve lighting needs if the hatch is closed (we have separate lights for that) but this light probably gets used the most for us.

Is this normal? I was getting ready to install the bed caps and noticed it doesn't really follow the shape of the bed. The front fits good, but there's a big gap in the back.20200927_124905.jpg

The Drifter/Nomad is straight from front to rear like the bed caps. They'll give you a good seal against the Drifter. Not much weight is back on that section overhanging the bed.

Has anyone seen a grey on a silver truck? I'm trying to decide still if I should powdercoat or not. I like the idea of the white roof to keep temps down.

By the way, I'm order 159 on 8/1/19. My recent conversation with Phil indicated we are shooting for a mid November delivery

Man I’m order #146 I’ve emailed several times ive messaged on Instagram. Crickets... if yours is up in nov that should mean mines up in at least November as well. Did they contact you? Or do you have Phil’s personal number? Got to admit I’m getting a little nervous as I’m moving to Vancouver bc in January and once I’m over I probably can’t come back to get it easily.

You just gave me hope. I’m 157.

As to the powder coating, if you look back though the posts many of the the early buyers have said it’s the one option they wish they’d had available. Just FYI.

I’ve been waiting to hear a response to the above question about whether or not to opt for the 12v power and USBs if you’re going to have a Goal Zero Yeti or equivalent. Any opinions or experience? Thanks.

I have a whole battery system and solar I made for my last setup. I would probably get your rig pre wired for solar then hook the panels into your yeti and use it as your power source. I believe if they wire it for usbs and 12 volt it’s just wired off your trucks battery, which in ny opinion is not as smart as using a leisure battery (your yeti).

I apologize as it was probably covered previously, but does the 6 foot long bed 2nd Gen Drifter fit a 3rd Gen long bed?
