    I have nothing but praise for VO . To start a business in these times , get granted a patent on a product and building each and every one by hand and a little different Than the next or last one is a amazing task ... I'll wait patiently and stockpile parts for my build out after my install ! And taco world better response keys .... laugh , pissed , love would be a good thing .... And Phil & Iggy I can't wait to meet you two when the time comes !As per my conversation with Phil when I ordered mine , I may be able to bring a interesting toy for you guys to experience some more old world craftsmanship... (got a few interesting projects happening right now )

    Hey guys does anyone want to sell their spot for a DCLB tacoma? Interested, but 12 months is awful! Might just do its, but curious if anyone has a slot, or if anyone has a DCLB used for sale in any configuration?

    Thanks,
    -Josh

    Soooo... I'm a dirty traitor and traded my Taco for a 6.5ft bed F150... Should I jump ship to somewhere like expedition portal, or can I still hang with you guys? Assuming I can, a little bit of rambling:

    Family is growing and the DCLB wasn't gunna cut it for our squad. Between car seats and dog crates and diaper bags and rifle cases and leg room, decided to take a forward looking view and move to a full size with a proper bed (I'm looking at you Toyota Tundra, y u no crew max with full size bed?)

    I swear I have seen a photo of a grey F150 in this thread with a Nomad -- to whom does this majestic stallion belong, and where can I learn more?

    You’re not alone. They did the same thing - went from a DCLB with a Drifter to the F150.

    I’ll let them identify themselves.

    Or a Tundra, I'd be curious about that too. Not a Toyota superfan, but I'd have to have some pretty good reasons to jump ship. Can't really fault my Tacoma for anything besides mediocre mileage and a plastic interior.

    The new Chevy truck look really doesn't do anything for me, even though if I were moving away from Toyota I'd have to look at GM first.

    I still have my Tacoma. Never getting rid of it and it’s the RD mule too. I needed a towing rig. I’m not a huge fan of the Tundra for several reasons, the main ones being fuel economy, power and frame flex. The Chevy seems to carry tanks low on the frame.

    It was between the Ram and the Super duty. Ultimately I went with the Ford because the 6.7 is a monster. 1000+ ft/lbs of torque and I can fit a 37” tire in the spare location.

    Hey guys! I'm also looking for a spot in line for a drifter or someone that is wanting to sell one they already have. If anyone has any leads on one I'd greatly appreciate it! Otherwise *I guess* I'll wait my turn in line. :thumbsup:

    I am an ex holder of aforementioned company’s build spot. We have had our Drifter for a year now, and concur that it was the right decision (though our wait was only 13 mo). We have put 60 nights in the camper and continue to be amazed with the quality. We have had zero issues with the camper. I appreciate the design effort that Phil and Iggy put into this camper and the build team was amazing.

    a note on taking someone else's spot... as long as the spot you are buying isn't already in production it doesn't matter what the original configuration is, you can can still adjust the build profile up until you get notified to finalize.

    This means if, for example you want a long bed Drifter you don't HAVE to wait for someone selling a long bed Drifter spot - you can get any spot that hasn't been finalized and parts ordered yet and then change it up to suit your needs

    I don’t remember who. But it makes me moist now that all I have is the F150. Too bad mines the 5'6" bed.

    I have the Tundra Crewmax and wouldn't trade the GINORMOUS back seat for an extra foot in the bed. I mocked up my build out in the kitchen and 64" of counter space is plenty. So is a 64" couch. My wife hates the part of getting to the trail so I'm setting her up with cell booster and Lagun table in the back so she can work on her laptop. She also likes to stretch out in the back seat.

    The backseat in the double-cab Tundras is still pretty damn large. The windows in those rear doors are what's so small... I prefer the bed being larger for hauling goods.

    Has anybody heard how the powder coat holds up on the drifter. I would probably get black, but really don’t want it looking really faded after a few years in the sun.

    @Mista_G @joeydurango @LTDSC @Swatdude1 @Twizted
    A few quick reasons on the switch:
    1. Went fullsize to get bigger backseat for kiddos.
    2. Went non-Tundra so that I could get 6.5ft bed and 'full crew cab'. None of this 'pick the bed space or the cab space' bs so that Toyota can keep claiming 'best turning radius in its class'.
    3. Went non-Tundra for the better mileage (I get ~17mpg around town, where my taco would get 19-20 or so?), even with the 5.0L V8
    4. Went Ford for aesthetics, reputation, and some of the bells and whistles. I.e. memory seat positions indexed to my keys are great since my wife and I both constantly drive both our vehicles and always manually adjusting the Taco seat (even though we had the fully loaded OR premium) was a PITA.

    @Iggy @JasonLee
    Any chance you all have the interior dimensions of the Nomad? super bonus points if there is a .skp file that I can use in sketchup. No need whatsoever for technical drawings or any company IP, but want to start designing out the interior and need pretty accurate measures for stuff like dog crates and all that...

    So who’s got the Drifter on a sand colored Tacoma (I don’t know the color name) that was parked outside a La Quinta in Kanab UT yesterday? I was driving out to the field otherwise I would have stopped and left a note. It was my first Drifter sighting in the wild! Wish I could have seen it up close and seen the interior.
