right on. doing suspension at the moment too. just got the new OME HD springs for the weight gain and swing out

 

Lol. Got a dual swingout on order also and was contemplating what leaf pack to go with.

 

Nice! I was going to go with the AP Expos, but seems like they’ve not been doing too well lately with service. Custom Alcans or Deavers seem like a good choice. These OME HDs are rated at 660lbs continuously. Should be more than enough muscle.

 

I have the OME heavyweight with a Drifter and dual swing out and it's good to go.

 

I have AP Expos and by the time the Drifter is installed I'll also have a Pelfreybilt HC rear w/ swingout. I'm thinking custom Deavers is the way to go once I have the interior build sorted.

 

I’ve got AP Expos currently and got custom Deavers waiting to go on.

 

Damnit, the universe keeps telling me to ditch the AP Expos for custom Deavers...

 

I have a custom set of Alcans being built right now that will go on right before the drifter! Awesome company and they make great springs.

 

what weight you running?

 

I’ll have to weigh once the Drifter is on and I pile in all the crap I usually take with me. The AP Expos got squidgy when I was loaded up with the A.R.E. shell and the RTT. I think I’m gonna be at least 200+ lbs over the last setup because of the LRA tank and the extra water tank as well.

 

Was really cool to see this at Overland Expo the other day. I can see getting something like this one day.

 

I'm at 6060 including me. I didn't check between axles, but I didn't have the following on board:

1. max trax
2. firewood
3. fridge food
4. drinks
5. cabinet setup
6. propane tank
7. toilet
8. spare cv
9. spare prop shaft
10. bag of major fasteners (uca, bumper, leaf pack)
11. 2nd passenger and their bullsh*t
12. compressor

I do have:

1. full (two) jerries
2. full tank
3. 7 gallons of water
4. dried food
5. recovery gear
6. sleep bags
7. spare tire
8. simple socket set
9. xjack
10. coffee and stove kit

I'm expecting with all the missing stuff, i'm looking at 7k-7.5k

 

I sure hope you are/have address the shackle hangers and braced the rear frame section. I know I haven’t yet. But it sounds like we are in the same arena.

 

there's a lot to do.

 

stock shackle hangers need to be ditched? I'll be up around 7 as well.

 

Think bigger and more expensive and toothy.

 

The access cab model does exist.

 

Highly recommend custom deavers. Love mine!

 

looks like BAMF has that of which you speak. might need to pay them a visit when i pick up the drifter
