So I'm not getting power from solar at the very first outside to in point. Not sure how to proceed from here, wondering if it's the connecters. The negative MC4 from the panel to the camper didn't perfectly click or seat into the other connector, so I'm wondering if there's some tolerance issue there where the pins aren't touching.

From what I can tell there's only 2 separate lengths of wire on the prewire. The length that goes from outside to in, which then connects into the section of wire that leads down into bed. So only a few places where something can be the issue.

Positive and negative wires could have been accidentally switched at one of the plugs.

If the polarity checks out I would check for continuity from the MC4 outside to each of the Anderson plugs. At least you could isolate the failed section and weather it is the positive or negative…then it you would have it narrowed down to which plug to take apart.

Yeah I did a quick check that the connector polarity color matched the wire color but I will more thorough. I'll admit this is my first time even using a multimeter so if ya got any more layman's terms for how to check continuity that'd be great haha.

Essentially already I have confirmed the panel is good, and no power at the Anderson connector end. And then today I confirmed that there's no power at the first change point(the Anderson connectors I posted on the previous page) inside the camper. So the issue is definitely in the initial foot or so or wire that goes from outside to inside.

    Appreciate the help guys!

Easiest way I know is set your multimeter as I have in the photos and connect to each end of the same wire; If open it will read 1 (first photo), if you have continuity you will have a low to 0 reading (second photo). You can use a jumper wire if your leads don’t reach. I really do suspect the MC4 on the roof that you said didn’t seat as you expected. Hope this is helpful and good luck!

    ^^

Also, just in general, youtube can teach you anything these days, so you might actually find that more helpful for generic questions like these since it's in video format compared to just some text and maybe a couple pics that you get here.

Any first gen Tundra owners on here with a Vagabond? I have 2006 Double Cab Tundra that I might be interested in getting a VO camper for. I'm curious to know how well it fits on the truck beds side rails. Looking at the fitment, both the Drifter and Nomad are listed as compatible with the 06 Tundra. I'd prefer the Nomad since the bed is a tad wider and probably give me a little more interior space. If anyone has pictures of one one a Double Cab first gen Tundra I'd love to see it!!!

I’d definitely go with the Nomad top. The extra space will be awesome.
Personally I think the angles on the lower part of the camper to fit a Drifter top on a Tundra looks weird. I’m sure the Nomad top would make the lower angles look much better.

These aren't meant to be reusable right? or is there a way to remove and reuse?

Edit - so they're just wedge zip ties. Cut em if you need to re route some wiring like I am!

Depends on the options you order with it. I’ve heard a lot of options could net you ~500 lbs.

edit: this was from someone that weighed before and right after the Drifter installation.

I'm not sure of the actual weight, but the awning is very heavy. Before the deavers, the truck leaned to that side.
