@Iggy @Overlanerd - do you guys have any pics of a Drifter with insulation package? Also, this might be a silly question but I'm a bit new to all this.... If you want to wire for electrical do you need to do that before your insulation or can you still access areas to wire?

Wondering what's the truck's height with the Drifter on? I'm assuming no chance of it fitting in a regular garage?

I would assume it depends on stock vs modified?

    I know that view

How far south are you going? I know lots of good dirt to BC Sur.

Don't forget to sign Coco's book. My first pass was in the early 90s when I was 8 or 9 with my dad.

Here are some height measurements Iggy gave me. I'm still stock at the moment, and should be able to (barely) get it into the garage.

"Highest part (front) of the fan to the base of the Drifter is 33-1/2”. The peak of the roof is 31” from the base."

Awesome! Yeah loved it in Gonzaga. We only went as south as Bahia LA, then went west and currently taking the Pacific coast up. Too much driving and we wanted to just relax at different beaches.

We got the real Coco when we visited. Not the “show” Coco where he pretends to be an asshole. He told us his story, which I then repeated while I narrated an IG story (with his permission of course) and he continued to elaborate and was filled with emotion. It was a great moment captured on camera. When I get back stateside, I’ll post it up and link it here.

Vagabond Outdoors is now well represented on Coco’s wall. Here’s @tacomgee holding up the badge (took right before he nailed it to the wall)

Probably depends more on how tall your garage is

Great! He is an interesting guy for sure. I was through his place 3 or 4 times from age 6-10 with my dad. What route did you take from Coco's to LA Bay and back out? There is great beach driving up from where you are but you missed some fantastic dirt heading south from LA Bay to San Rafael and on to BC Sur. If you want to head out via Tecate the Compadre Trail is a great dirt route north. I wish I had swung by your place a couple weekends ago, I could've drawn you a map of all the sections of the 1000 course your truck would've done fine on north of Santa Rosalia.

I currently have to air down to 5 psi to get my truck in my garage with the flippac on lol don't think it will be any easier with the drifter. I just park outside and stay away from parking garages :p

Ended up getting a Nissan Frontier rental and transferring the Drifter over to that. Fits pretty well!

BTW the Nissan kinda sucks. It's not a bad truck but it's only 10% less than the comparable Tacoma (TRD Off Road) new and it's definitely nowhere as nice as the new Tacomas. Gas mileage seems worse, but the bed is sealed way better.
Reminds me of a 2nd Gen, which isn't bad, but it is dated at this point.

First weekend camping with the drifter. Absolutely love this camper. Game changer is an understatement.

    Just the basics
Looks like the vent opens opposite of the way typical popup camper vents open.

Wouldn't the opposite way of the Drifter (aka "typical popup camper") just let all the rain in like pacman eating straight up at the sky?
