Jon, sorry for not being more available with the shop’s landline. I PM’d you my cell number and plan to have the landline forwarded to it.

I am still at the shop and at my desk if you’re available.

    That would be great!
    1. What is the opening size of the optional sliding window?
    2. Is there a sturdiness difference between the gullwing door and the solid window?
    3. Do the corners come with the cover pieces that allow electrical switches to be mounted?
    4. Can a weatherproof pass through/bulkhead for solar panel wires be added to the build?

The stars aligned and after a great conversation with Phil all my questions are clarified. Thanks to all for the inputs/sharing your builds and experiences. Those are really helpful to help others with their campers.

@Overlanerd I'm sure this is one of the most FAQ's - Now that your crew is in the swing of building the Drifter, what is the current lead time on new orders? (2nd Gen long bed is my interest)

    Thank you!

Cool. If I haven't gotten to check one out by then, I'd be interested in meeting up with you so you can geek out in my general direction re: the drifter.

There is a gen 1 tundra Drifter in work now. I won't get mine until Feb 2019. I would like to see photos too. Both builds are DCs. If I understood correctly, the tundra overhang clearance is 1.5" to the cab roof and I think the width was increased by 3". I bet there will be photo up before I can post some. LOL! Sorry that I got this off topic with my build. Back to the wonderful Tacoma builds!

I don’t think you talking about Tundra Drifter action is out of bounds here. Yes, this is TW, but it is also the Vagabond Sub forum. I figure it’s fair game. I hope to be at the shop on the day you take delivery. I wouldn’t mind a first gen Tundy as a different camptruck.

Phil mentioned he was making the 1st gen tundra, a couple inches wider and a couple taller.

Im suppose to be in the next batch and exchanged some measuremnt info for my 1st gen. I ordered hatch windows, slider, fan, roof track. Im told itll be soon...

Do you or anybody happen to know if that‘s for the 1st gen Tundra DC only or also for the AC? If I remember right, de DC is slightly bigger than the AC.

@Dr TMAC asked in the GFC thread about locking the camper up when you're inside. I agree with most people in that thread that it's never something I've been concerned with, and I've "camped" at several WalMarts but for anyone interested the Drifter can be locked both open and closed.

I've been locking it the last couple nights to try and keep as much heat in as possible, but other than that never bothered.

    Locked, or just latched?
