10 amps. The fan already has a fuse in as well.

The yellow wire is for the brake. On 2nd gens, it gets connected to the green wire with the red stripe.

Did any of you put a water sealant underneath the plastic cover of the rim of the truck bed to make it waterproof before having the drifter put on? If not, did you consider it? Anyone without this notice any water issues? It sounds like the drifter is water sealed but I'm wondering if we need to do any prep to the existing bed so it doesn't come in underneath the drifter. Any experience / opinions welcome.

You will want to seal the bed cubbies and the front of the bed facing the cab has some gaps that you will want to seal with silicone.

I asked Phil about the bed rail caps. I was told that it is good to RTV the underside of the rail caps. I have been sealing up my '06 tundra bed and have noticed a lot of connecting passages between the inner & outer bed sides.

Yup, i used gorilla tape, clear kind they have, then two beads of black RV sealant one on each side of the holes on the rails. Also the gap up front on the 3rd gens.

Cubbies, I have yet to do as. May sell the decked system and go with something built out, will see. Also, make sure to hit up the tailgate area, i forgot my lower seal back in Canada and the dus in the back of the truck was noticeable, but not horrible.

Curious if anyone has ever retrofitted a remote lock system instead of the T-handles.

Reason being is I managed to pinch my finger btw the t handle and the top of the tail gate and gave myself a rather nasty cut, this morning, probably more from when I yanked my hand back. Think degloving but on a small scale, still freaking hurts. Still have no idea how in the hell I even managed to do it. Thank god for a damn first aid kit in the back of the truck.

After looking at the t-handles they seem to be rather large for the application. Wondering if it is possible to get smaller handles or even put in one of the ARE/Leer systems. Thoughts? I could just trim the darn handles down to an appropriate size. Second Gen folks probably won’t have this issues as you have a non flared tailgate, sadly ever modern truck has one, all they do for us in Canada is cause snow to gather on the tail gate in the winter time making the rear camera useless!!

Pics below showing closeness of handle.

Okay, thanks to all re: input on sealing the bed rail caps. Brian, for the gaps at the front of the cab, did you do that after the install? It looks like there could be some on the ends but that it might be ideal to do it after the drifter is on. Obviously the bed rails will be done beforehand. Thanks for your help. -Christy

Its worth the wait! I’m in love with mine, do a lot of traveling and hotels in canada are typically 100 a night, add in pet fee and were talking 120-140a night on average.

Just the savings on hotels every month alone is worth it to me. Now i can also extend my comfort on the trails as well. Ease of setup and takedown. Base camp for days, our pack up And drivev everyday. It does it all.

Fuel consumption is slightly less, maybe 0.5mpg which was the same as or better then the alucab canopy and Rtt.

Although, now i am thinking about dropping the arb summit bumper and winch and going for a lighter option upfront, same with the decked system as, I’ve lost about 1.5-2” in sag on my rear leafs (ome hd with their aal leaf pack, shiuld be yoid for over 750lbs constant weight). Besides trimming some fat will be good. Should shave about 300lbs i think.

Also I didn’t see it mentioned but does the antenna on 3rd gens still work with the overhang on the camper? GPS and satellite radio?

Mine still picks up the preview channel no problem. Not a huge fan of sat radio anymore. Once you start doing long days in the seat it just repeats itself over and over.

GPS works fine, my Sirius XM had some issues with signal but I also live out in the middle of nowhere and my drive over the mountain already had signal issues so my experience is probably not the best response.

Windoor versus Frontrunner gullwing windoor? That is the (current) question. The frontrunner windoor is bigger, but why else should we pay the extra $$$ for the front runner gullwing doors? Thoughts/opinions welcome.
