Got the call this AM truck is in. Going to pick it up some time today. Now all I have to worry about is:

"Is it what I ordered and will the dealer play games with the agreed pricing"

My Dealer is phenominal. I know they won't play games. THAT is why I am paying them more than I got quoted elsewhere.

 

Picked it up What I want to share with people interested in the deal. This is my deal. Anyone wants a hookup PM me. Deals CAN be had on these trucks. They are making money on those who are paying MSRP without blinking an eye because its a new vehicle and a Tacoma, and the "implied popularity" drops people's guard down.

The dealer not only gave me the deal we agreed to...They also added all the addendum Sticker stuff on free. ToyotaCare Free oil Changes, Tinted Windows, 1 year ding and dent, 1 year Key replacement. Pin Stripes, Nitrogen and other crap they charge $1295 extra for those who don't know any better or are upside down in their trade.


(I was going to pay them to tint it)...so I tipped my Sales guy and Internet Manager $100 each they are donating the money to the Breast Cancer drive the dealer is having. ...So they say LOL

I decided to finance $28K at 1.5 for 30 months with PenFed CU. That is too cheap use of money to pay cash


The truck drives and feels great. But the honeymoon period has begun. Long term will be the real test. But I didn't sense the lack of acceleration (ECT off) many are claiming BUT I drive like a limo Driver. No hurry to get anywhere....That comes with age and a Norther adapting to southern living. I have to say though I do feel the stronger engine HP wise than my 15. I didn't stomp on it but I could sense pressing the peddle a bit, it wants to go,


Ok I take freeway on ramps aggressively (Comes from Vet and Miata ownership) This this Sport out did my 08 OR and 15 Sport as far as body roll goes. It's pretty sticky with the Hitachi Shocks Dare I say "Sporty" ? Never felt I had to get off the pedal. Drove through a 90 degree sweeper near my house at 60MPH and it stuck like rails.

I did not get a chance to drive any real distances but so far It was well worth the additional $6000 I had to pay for it over what I sold my 15 for. The JBL IS WORTH the money. I have not played with the tech yet. I will test everything tonight.

Did not notice any hunting in the transmission as I was looking for it but a longer drive will reveal more.


I scotch guarded the seats and put the back seats down as I never use them.

My dealer sent me a price via email to get me to the shop - when I went to pay the price was jacked up $1000 dollars over msrp - there was 30 folks in the shop for service and I was yelling at the sales guy AND the sales manager when they both started lying crazy lies... the price was for another truck bla bla I had to inform them that the email was for the exact truck in question as the only other 16 they had was a 4cyl and sticker on that one was $24k not $34k... car sales people are totally crazy nuts dont let them jack you around, I didn't. Ended up splitting the diff and got a crazy deal on the 7 year warranty from Toyota ($800) so in the end I'm good with it all just don't like the trip to get there much.

ha. I've had my '14 for 18 months, and only now realize how the back seat headrests go when the seat is flat

I sure do miss the $300 sales tax cap in SC. We lived in Conway for 8 years. But I do enjoy the no state income tax in TN.
