    Hey all,

I am the FNG I guess. I decided that I am going to buy a tacoma after test driving one while on leave just for something to do. I love the thing, and really wanna get rid of my boring old man corolla. I haven't bought the truck yet, because I am saving up a decent sized down payment and waiting for a fulltime job before I go and put myself into debt.

I am in the Canadian Armed Forces currently serving as a reservist. I am waiting on paperwork to go through to the airforce so that I have full time work and can actually pay for the truck.

I only have a question... What does Pre runner mean. Its been bugging me ever since I found the forum.

Welcome to Tacoma World. A prerunner is a 2 wheel drive Taco.

I actually liked the definition one of the guys on the Yotatech forum used.

Thats is actually a Trophy Truck which is the highest class in offroad racing. The term prerunner comes from a vehicle[IMG] that is used to pre run the course before racing on it. People also use the word "prerunner" to talk about a long travel truck (2 or 4wd) that is built to go fast in the desert.

Its a 2wd truck with the stance of a 4x4. You CAN get a prerunner w/a locking diff though. My truck has a open diff, but I am pretty sure the 09+ come w/a lsd. Oh and welcome to TW
