Loud and annoying. Tony has straight pipes and no cat. It's ridiculous. Way to loud. Seems cool now as your 17. But won't take long for it to get old. I'd keep a muffler on it

Oh and opening the exhaust up a lot can cause some issues. Mine will die from not enough back pressure sometimes coming off higher rpms. Even died on me going 80mph after passing someone. Or it'll have trouble starting. But I'm a manual so might not have that issue with an auto

I could see how it would get annoying, but it doesn't seem that loud.

Who is this tony? dos he have a video of his truck?

I'd keep the cat, would it help the noise?

Straight pipe sounds good on very few vehicles. 6 cylinders and 4 cylinders sound horrible.

Yeah, an MC upgrade should help. IIRC, Matt's Brocoma build runs a chevy MC on the stock booster.

I'll be going with manual brakes. :anonymous:

Wish there was some way I could still register my truck in WY. There is so much BS smog equipment I would love to cut off the truck. :(

    See my edit above too.

Tony has a build. SupraT is his screen name. Idk if he has vids or not. I know he has issues starting sometimes too like me. He has straight 2.5" pipe

Cats will keep the noise down a bit ya. Also you can't really judge the loudness from YouTube. Most video cameras unless very high end have auto gain features so when it gets loud, it turns the sound down. And when it gets quiet it turns it up.

My 14" magnaflow is still pretty dang loud. Wouldn't want to hear the truck without a muffler.

Cool, thanks for the info, sounds like it's more trouble then it's worth.

If i'd've gotten a chevy or ford i'd've definitely strait piped it.

I know a kid that has the 4.0 straight pipe with 5 inch tips. Sounds terrible. I told him when I finish my Ford I'll let him hear how an exhaust should sound lol

My dads had a 18" dual out magnaflow. Was really tenory after the headers when you past 2.5k.

But my god...it is amazing at idle and under 2k. Just fucking sick.

Resonator helped cut down the edge. Still sexy sounding though.

I want to do a magnaflow muffler and dump it but I just wish I could make the 3.4 cam half as hard as the 460 lol Nothing sounds better to me than a beefy cam

Yeah I was gonna go with 14 and do ingle in dual out just in case I wanted to do the, out the rear one day. But running it out to the rear would just get in the way or hung up in my mind. Plus dumped exhaust is just cool lol

I've never seen a 1st gen with duals that looks good. And dual out of a 14" would be ridiculously loud. Mine wails and it's a single out. Thankfully not dumped and piped out so i don't hear it a ton with the windows up. Makes for good highway driving. That and Magnaflows get really quiet at cruising rpms.

I'd do 18 at least for dual outs if I was gonna. But ya. Probably get banged up. Still can't believe I haven't destroyed mine. But it's tucked up perfect.

Most people do the whole 45 degree angle with 5 inch tips out the rear and I don't get why they'd spend all that money on those tips for them to get beat on and possibly Hung up
